Just an oddity, as I flip back and forth between the Iowa State @ Baylor and the Ole Miss @ Alabama games. The CBS announcers mentioned that John Rhys Plumlee (playing QB for Ole Miss today) was recruited as a safety by 'Bama. Then, I flipped to the Iowa State game, and they mentioned the back-up QB for Baylor (who came in for a few plays) was recruited as a safety by Alabama. What is it, 1961 when QB's played safety on defense in the one platoon days? Just really odd that I heard the same thing about two different players in two different games.

Plumlee is an interesting guy. Originally committed to UGA , but flipped to Ole Miss. Dude's like Jerry Lee Lewis on the piano.

He looked good when he came in last week and looks good today! A natural for Rch Rod's Offense. Ole Miss may suck overall, but they might on to something with the right QB. Might have been a blessing in disguise injury for the offense. Hope the other guy gets better soon, but he might not get his job back.

I wish we would have got him to stick with us. We're either gonna have a former walk on, a redshirt freshman or a true freshman at QB next season if Fromm leaves early. And the redshirt freshman had brain surgery before the season, so can't even be used in mopup duty for 4 games this season.

Wish he was at Alabama, as they have plenty of QBs but need safeties! :) Plus, Ole Miss is up 10-7!

Lets see for the trivia question Ole Miss and I think Auburn have beaten Bama more than once since 2014 right? Did they say more than one team?

Never mind it's Clemson not Auburn

Haven't seen any updates on the Freshman QB, is he doing ok in his recovery?

Last I checked, he was doing great, but it's highly unlikely he'll see the field at any point this season.

Yeah, brain surgery is not quite like getting your knee scoped. I'd probably be happy just to be able to play again someday.

Unless Mathis took a huge jump from HS — I’m not sure if Georgia fans are going to like him too much.

He is more athlete than QB. I went see him a couple time in HS. He beat up on the weak teams and struggled tremendously against the better teams.

Last I watched him — he was like 9 for 24 for 90 yards and an INT.

Carson Beck is coming in next season, but I doubt Kirby want to run with another true freshman.

If I had to bet on it, I'd put my money of Stetson Bennett to start the season at QB for us if Fromm leaves. He knows the system, and has looked good in garbage time.

From Brain Surgery, I just hope the kid gets back to being 100% healthy! That is the biggest victory out there.

Yeah. Mathis, IMO, is a high ceiling guy, who needs a lot of work to get there. He will need to add some weight too.

I will tell you what — he may help you with a teammate of his. Justin Rogers. Guy is a monster and seems dead set on going out of state. He gave a verbal to Kentucky as they offered him first, but I think he ends up elsewhere in the SEC.
