I remember those days where my fandom consisted of taking pleasure on other team successes, as my team was almost as sad as Nebraska is currently.

Don’t worry. You will get out of that hole and be back to finishing in the middle of the pack in the B1G west in no time.

I'm sorry......Will Harbaugh's Michigan finally be winning something of substance this season?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAA

@NU_FTW are you upset? Smile, you still have the band and women’s volleyball to look forward to this year.
Not the slightest bit. Your retardation is astounding and quite amusing.

You and MnB are both beyond retarded (especially when it comes to football)

There it is deflection and excuses. Think of the bright side — you can only go up this season. Who knows — maybe even make a bowl game.:hope:

Nah. Nebraska shouldn't have even been in the conversation, especially given the miracle it required for them to be undefeated, and the coaches felt obligated to jump Nebraska over Michigan in the final poll because your coach was retiring. It was a gift Nebraska didn't deserve.

That is how you know who the real champ is. We overcame. You needed ref help to end the clock against Wazzu.

The coaches felt obligated to jump us over Michigan because you struggled to put away an 8th ranked Washington St team that actually had more close games than you did, while we demolished a higher ranked, Manning led, Tennessee team that most likely would've beaten your ass.

But it's ok. I understand that you want to cling to your only semblance of a national title in nearly 50 years. Your wooden plank given to you by sports writers LOL. Sorry, I just couldn't say it with a straight face.

We will keep our crystal football awarded by people that know their shit.

I remember being at the Michigan/Nebraska game last year. It was 39-0 at the half. Martinez threw for 22 yards and ran for -12 for the game. And prior to UM bringing band members out of the crowd to play on the last drive in the 4th quarter — UM had outgained Nebraska 490 to 52!

THAT is sad.

That was sad. Very sad.

But is that more sad than losing at home to an FCS program when you're ranked #5 in the nation? Asking for a friend.

You say you understand how we Husker fans feel about these 5-7/4-8 seasons.

I understand how you Michigan fans feel too. I lived the 9 and 10 win seasons through 7 years of Bo Pelini. Getting clobbered in big games, having the cameras on him every time something bad happened, never being able to get back to elite.

Nah. It was because your coach was retiring. The coaches were voting the way they’d want their retirement to go. The unbiased AP voters didn’t.

In 2014, Michigan was giving football tickets away when people bought two Coca Colas for $3.

That's because we had to sell out a real stadium, and not a sub 90,000 seat stadium.

here we go....

In the final AP poll Nebraska had beaten two of the top ten teams, handing two of them their only loss, and beaten a total of FIVE AP Top 25 teams, of which two of them won their bowl games.

In the final AP poll, Michigan had beaten one top ten team, handing them their second loss, and only beaten THREE AP Top 25 teams, and they all lost their bowl games. Matter of fact, all of Michigan's opponents that went bowling lost their bowl games by an average of 20+ in each game. AND!!!!! the defenses of the opposing teams did much better at beating the Big 10 teams than Michigan's defense.

The coaches wanted to honor your retiring your coach and gave him a gift. The unbiased AP voters did not.

We had one common opponent, Colorado. Michigan beat them 27-3. Nebraska struggled to beat them and scraped by 27-24. Enough said.

Who was the best team in 1997/Nebraska or Michigan/Discuss

By quantitative analysis, it is Nebraska.

By qualitative analysis, it is Nebraska.

Fixing the 1997 AP College Football Poll

Nebraska beat the SEC champion in the bowl game, that was the SEC's only loss. the SEC went 5-1 in bowl games.

By Michigan analysis, it is Michigan.
