If you draft Gurley in round 1/2?

Or if you're keeping Gurley/ taking over a team with Gurley/ dynasty/ etc.?

A lot of people really loved Henderson in this draft class. Some question how much load he can handle but kid is a playmaker, great balance, quicks, body control. McVay should put him in some good situations Healthy Gurley or not.

I imagine some weeks both Gurley and Henderson could start on a fantasy team and produce. We've seen backfields with concurrently useful fantasy players before.

But most importantly he's the handcuff and lead back should the knee go bad. He won't take over Gurley's full role, but should double his own workload in that case.

How much is he worth to you?

According to Fantasy Pros consensus rankings, Henderson is currently being drafted as the RB45 ranked 132 overall. His ADP is lower at 149. That's roughly 14th round in a 12-team league.

If I own Gurley and want to get Henderson, to be safe, probably have to pull the trigger early, like 12th round.

True, but trendy handcuffs are always jumped on earlier as we get further into the draft season...

So I would bet he will be more like a 9th rounder....

And to answer whether he is worth it or not, I would say NO... Not because it is not worth it, but if you draft Gurley so early, then that is saying you have faith in him... So basically you are drafting a 9th rounder(using my assumption to what he will be going at), is just too high for me...

Of course though, if he stays in the 12th round, then he is a Low risk High reward player, who I wouldn't mind dropping later on if needed...

Good points, Milk.
I'm not much of a handcuff strategy guy either. But to be honest, there isn't much there in the 9th round either. Players with a lot of question marks and/or position battles.

If you're inheriting a team with Gurley, I would be inclined to cover my tail.

and the more iffy Gurley becomes the higher Henderson will go... Which just makes me less willing to do it... But the good thing is if Henderson Becomes a 6th rounder, then chances are Gurley will be a 4th or 5th... so then handcuffing is not that big of a deal since you didn't pay the initial cost for Gurley...

Henderson will never hit waivers unless he's a Ronald Jones level bust.
His offense brings value to whomever is the RB.
Both these guys being talented just increases the overall potential production.

I'm with Milk on this one; if I own Gurley, I want Henderson. 9th round sounds reasonable enough.

If I own Gurley I don't wait until the 9th, I'd reach for Henderson.
Yea - especially in dynasty - which means you already own Gurley. .... rookie draft, he's gonna be a first rd'er (right, wrong or indifferent). ....

Henderson went at 1.6 the last rookie draft I was in.

Don't think I've seen him much lower than that in any dynasty format - even if the guy who takes him doesn't own Gurley. ...

We see backup RBs way differently. The situations aren't zero sum, IMO. I'm trying to get a piece of a good backfield no matter who ends up getting the carries/is healthy. The investments in a top offense cost more whether it's the starter or the backup.

Rookie draft, I try like heck to get the 5 spot.
Redraft and I took Gurley? Then 6 th round. However I won't take Gurley in a redraft.
Start up same as redraft, again not taking Gurley

I could see Henderson eventually rising to the 4th spot. Jacobs, Montgomery, Harry, then Henderson. I know he's going earlier and earlier. Did a rookie draft earlier and he was mid 2nd round . Heck he might even go before Harry.

Rams like to use a workhorse back.Folks saw what even a CJ Anderson could do and are wondering "Wow what if Henderson gets the same chance as CJ , but way earlier?" Thus he's going higher and sooner as we move closer to the season. Just need some more bad Gurley news and he could be right up there with Jacobs. Better offense for a RB and not even close.

Redraft or rookie draft, or start up Dynasty? Which are we talking about?
Everything except rookie draft. Rookie draft he goes 1st with the other top rookie backs.
