Why give anything up to get anyone? we should be acquiring young talent not giving any of it away, its this mentality that caused us to give away guys like Tanner Roark and Kyle Hendricks in various trades

Now we might be in the trade market at some point. Maybe we give up a position player for pitching but yes let’s not just give up our young talent

I wonder for how long. And does Willie get his spot back
Do not like that. DDJ is not going to help and Willie needs to stay.

Makes you wonder how happy the front office was this morning, knowing that the decision has been made on the roster crunch, and the injury made it so easy.

The kid didn’t deserve to go down. He was kicking ass.

DDJ wasn't hitting AAA pitching. He was hitting. 211. The Rangers are sure in love with DDJ and Odor.

I don’t get the rangers obsession with Deshields and Odor.

I can see the rangers bringing Deshields back when rosters expand for pinch running and late inning fielding, but I shudder when I think about a lineup card filled out with Deshields, Mathis, and Odor on it at the same time.

they should have dropped DDJ or Jeanmar Gomez from the 40 and added maybe Zack Granite or Hunter Cole or Elinzer Alvarez to it and called whoever they added up

DDJ will go back down when Willie heals up. Santana will block DDJ now is my opinion.

Elvis started his rehab assignment yesterday. He will probably be back in 2 or 3 days.

Odor must be getting desperate. He doesn't bunt to often.

Have high hopes for Guzman. If he starts to hit and with his defense, he will be the 1st B we have been needing.

He still has a lot of ground to make up on the hitting. Your first baseman is supposed to be one of your best hitters. It hasn’t been that way for the rangers since teixera.

Doesn’t help that Jason hammel retired 1 week before April. He didn’t give us enough notice to bring in another pitcher. That’s gotta be another reason why the starting pitching is so thin behind Lynn and minor.
They should have allowed Hammel to break camp in the rotation and he would have stayed. Based on performance he deserved it, but they were bound and determined to go with Miller and Smyly.

Palumbo was average at best, but Bahr pitched very well.

Looks like another mistake by the decision makers. Miller has been an unmitigated disaster. Several other retreads we’ve faced lately like Tommy Milone or clay bucholz would’ve been better.

It seems like the front office is too rigid in there thinking, they seem to come up with a plan and stick with it regardless of results.
