I forgot what playoffs series it was, but Dallas was going against someone. Fans of the opposing team, as they were heading to the away arena, would take an axe and damage a car that had #41 painted on it. If I could remember the team they faced, then I'd remember what arena it was.

I wish I could find a pic of this, at least.

If Dirk succeeds, are you going to do the opposite of smash a # 41 car? I guess that would mean add nitro boosters to a car with #41 painted on it.

Cleveland obviously knew they were trying to get him to pass Wilt that night and so on the last play they intentionally fouled another Mavericks player before Nowitzki could get the pass*. He would’ve only tied it with a three. He did missed two free throws and the last five shots. If he shot a little bit better on those he would’ve passed him. Sort of like the time where he was trying to pass Brian’s for most points in Madison Square garden. He went 0-10. Obviously, the worst percentage in his career.

* I didn’t see the play, but the play started at 5.3 seconds to go when the game was at hand and one second later there was an intentional foul. It was close enough that I suspect you could foul to try to get the ball back and make a three and then foul again, but it was so late in the game and Dallas was obviously trying to get it to Dirk.

He’d have to average 10.33 PPG and play all 82 games next year and the final 12 this year. Or play two seasons and average between 10.21 PPG and 5.23 PPG. He averaged 6.0 PPG this year and will have played around 50 games.

I calculated earlier that if he played every game of his career at the averages he averaged for that season, he would have 2-3000 more points. I had an exact number, but I deleted it accidentally when I was figuring out the above numbers.
