What about a salary cap draft, where you everybody gets 1 time where if a player gets picked, they can stop the draft and call for a blind auction for that player, where the winning bid becomes his new value. Anyone that bids on that player forfeits his chance to stop the draft. If your player gets stolen, you get to repick and the person that one the player forfeits his next pick. So, it's like that player fell to their next pick.

There would have to be some time limit, so we don't end up waiting for 2 days because someone got all caught up in life, but I think we could pull it off.

I have always wanted to try some sort of spin-off of an auction. I know we can't auction all picks but I like this idea.

It would be like the secret draft but more complicated. I feel like it would take months unless we did it for basketball. Baseball and football would take MUCH longer. Just think, you have to auction say at minimum 10 teams and 24 players each team. We are talking 240 players at minimum. I just don't see how that is possible.

We could take Femur's idea of an auction and expand some. Each team/person gets 5 AUCTION picks for the entire draft. You can use these picks at any point in the draft that you desire.

An auction pick is basically after a team picks a player you say you want to start an auction. This has to be texted to Nos or posted on the chat thread before the next team makes their pick.

Ex: So if I pick Mugsey Bogues and Ritz picks Rick Smits 2 mins later but 500 texts Nos saying he wants to bid on Bogues but he does this after Ritz picks. That player stays on my team. So the draft order could really either screw someone or help them.

Then everyone can bid, a blind auction. You only get one bid. If more than bid ties then those 2, 3, etc. teams have a tiebreaker auction. (we could have some options for that, discuss, etc.)

I think the fact it's so different from anything else we have ever done would make it a blast.

Ummmm let me think a little more about that, I think we might need to raise it a little because it's not clear how much each player will cost, different than using something where we know what a player costs.

Yeah I agree with that logic. Could bump it up to maybe $240 or so
