4 Classes this season, the DPI, LMP2, GTLM, and GTD.

Starting 1st overall and DPI is the #77 Mazda with Oliver Jarvis, Tristan Nunez, Timo Bernard, and Rene Rast. The DPI has 11 entries.

Starting 1st in LMP2 is the #81 car with Henrik Hedman, Ben Hanley, Nicolas Lapierre, and James Allen. Only 4 entries in the LMP2 class so it's basically RC Pro-Am in effect with 3 getting to celebrate and the 4th one out.

Starting 1st in GTLM is the #911 Porsche with Patrick Pilet, Nick Tandy, and Frederic Makowiecki. There are 9 entries for the GTLM's.

Starting 1st in GTD is the #13 Ferrari with Chico Longo, Victor Franzoni, Marcos Gomes, and Andrea Bertolini. GTD is the busiest class per usual with 23 entries. The all-female lineup of Katherine Legge, Simona De Silvestro, Ana Beatriz, and 2-Time GTD Champion Christina Nielsen will share piloting for the #57 Acura. They'll roll off the grid 11th in class.

This race has men, women, Americans, foreigners, NASCAR competitors, Indycar competitors, F1 competitors, and other disciplines. We also have what I think to be a first, a double amputee competing in Alex Zanardi.

When Zanardi's in the car, they use a different wheel with the video game racing wheel idea of throttle and brake being on the wheel itself since reaching the pedals aren't an option.

During the night session, the DPI Mazdas which had been the darlings of the off-season with their speed both wound up out of the race within 10 minutes of one another. At this point, it's basically attrition and just getting through the overnight.

Rain is expected to hit and hit hard at around 5 am track time.

Halfway through this bad boy and it's dark and weird shit's happening. The latest is the 55 DPI Mazda resurrecting itself to a Top 5 run while the 3 GTLM Corvette just up and fucking dies.

Race was as compared to last years race full of cautions. Once the rain hit it was not a lot of fun watching million dollar race cars spinning in circles.

Probably need to put the race back a week. Weather is always a crap shoot. Two years ago it rained also but not as bad.

This week I am driving to the NCM track in Bowling Green and the next day to Tire Rack headquarters in South Bend. Have friends competing in this year's One Lap and am invited to attend the trophy presentation in South Bend. The track will be part of the race.
