Fucker

He's at 55.7 in my league

Henry, Derrick TEN RB
vs Jaguars Thu 5:20 p.m. PT
TEN 30, JAC 9

4th Quarter 12:52 Remaining
1st and 10 at JAC 5 21.7 217 Rushing Yards
4.0 217 Rushing Yards
6.0 3 yd Rushing TD
6.0 16 yd Rushing TD
9.0 99 yd Rushing TD
9.0 54 yd Rushing TD
55.7 Subtotal

Funny thing thing is I'm in an odd league with 4 - 8 team divisions. Each team drafts amongst itself and we then play 7 division games and 5 non division games. Therefore Henry could be on 3 other teams, and not one of us started him.

Garrison Hearst--96 (1998)

With a rookie TO out in front blocking to end the game. That was fun.

Hearst brings back bitter-sweet memories because he was great, but he always got hurt at crucial moments.

IMHO Titans offensive line is the problem and has been for a while .Mariotta and lewis are better than what they have shown too,but if defense is in the backfield at the handoff or as soon as QB sets nobody will do shit.

Yes.

A 99 yard run all of sudden mean he is good?

He entered the game avg under 4 ypc and less than 500 yards rushing.

His longest run of the season before tonight was 16 yards lmao

GrotesqueLastEmperorshrimp-size_restricted.gif

He’s now averaging nearly 5 yards per carry.

I’m just glad I wasn’t go up against him in fantasy.

Henry is a rhythm running back. They dont give him enough carries to get in rhythm. I guarantee you if they fed him 20 to 25 times a game he would put up big numbers.

I don't know about that. They've tried getting him going plenty of times and like bksballer said, he's been terrible. He's been dogshit all year. He's looked good in the past and they were hoping he'd be the feature back this year with Demarco Murray moving on (Dion Lewis was brought in to be a change of pace back), but Henry didn't step up at all. This game was the first game he's looked anything close to what was expected.

Loved Hearst.. Damn he was so so talented. And yeah, that ankle injury was just sickening to watch. Had the same issue in recovery as Bo Jackson, missed two entire years and came back almost like he didn't miss a beat.

Was a heck of a game. A LOT of big days for big players and a pile of familiar coaches on those two sidelines.

And not just rookie TO, but rookie David Fiore. Don't think he ever did much else. But he led the way for like 85 yards on that play as an offensive guard. If you see the play check him out. That's the longest I've seen a guard with staying with a breakaway play.

Quit checking me out.

I don't watch the NFL at all anymore, but I know Henry from Alabama pretty well.

Is he getting hit in the backfield a lot? He doesn't seem to do well in those cases, I guess because of his build. Not that many RB's do well when they get hit in the backfield a lot, but for a guy of his size you wouldn't expect him to go down as easily as he does. And when you watch him just stiff arming the fuck outta people and shit otherwise, it really makes it odd.

But yeah, if he is getting hit in the backfield, he struggles for some reason. If he hits the 2nd level though, defenders often misjudge his speed.

It's been a lot of 2 yards and fall down this year. Of course, the offense going back and forth between being functional to wildly inconsistent with the O-line not protecting anyone, to Mariota not throwing the ball, and more but Henry hasn't helped much at all. He's mostly just been good around the goal line, minus that one time Vrabal derped a game away by not using him at the goal line

LOL. 4 TD's.....

And Carr is garbage?

7 TD's and 8 INT's in his first 5 games with his 3rd or 4th OC in 5 seasons......what has he done since? Glad you asked.....9 TD's and 0 INT's.

I never much cared for the OC changing bit. Usually it's about Young Alex Smith, or Cutler, or David Carr. And you just want to say "well if he'd play better they wouldn't be firing his offensive coordinator so often". Maybe not always the case but it seems to pop up as a negative more with the ones getting fired than the ones getting promoted. I'll give him the benefit for now because his pocket presence went from something I liked to hot garbage this year (ok not quite hot garbage but I've got to say I feel his reads were being made a lot quicker up till this year and it stands out as odd). And I'm not sure what else to possibly put that on other than getting used to a scheme.

9 TD's, 0 INTs.... and a league leading 7 fumbles in the last 7 games. He swapped out the INT's for fumbles.

I will give him props though, none of the TD's were garbage ones.

I've always cheered for him since I had to debate a buddy who was a Raiders fan claimed McGloin and not Carr was the better QB. And then the "he can't throw to receivers" when he had junk receivers (then they upgraded and he had a couple 1000 yard ones). And just wanting the Raiders to finally find a decent QB. But I'm kind of hitting that point where I am starting to wonder if he'll ever take that step up.

Your hypothesis makes no sense.

11 carries in, Henry had 219 yards and 3 TDs.

He didn't need any kind of rhythm to absolutely destroy Jacksonville's defense, mainly on 2 plays.

He could just as easily carry the ball 25 times for 70 yards. His career proves that out.

He had an incredible game, but let's not pretend we don't know what Derrick Henry is 99% of the time.

Why do running backs who stiff arm defensive players and grab their face mask not get a 15 yard penalty for the infraction.. You can clearly see the face mask grab around 17 seconds of this vid

Or more close up a 56 seconds of this video. If a defensive player did that to an offensive player the flag comes out.
