FootballScoop - The Scoop

apparently there was a rumor that Tulane offered the job to Tommy Bowden, Bowden then declined it.

but that isn't the case

first of all that makes no sense

Tulane can't possibly be dumb enough to hire Bowden who sucks at coaching even on the D2 level, he brings in talent but can't ever use it properly.

second of all Bowden's at North Alabama why wouldn't he leave there for a D1-A program?

also Rich Rod is currently the leading candidate

after last night :L

at least Rich Rod would give them an offense that can keep up with the 70 or so points they give up to opposing teams.

also Urban Meyer said he's not planning on returning to coaching and he's happy with his job at espn

which = I'm happy at Bowling Green, so I'm not going to Utah. I'm happy at Utah so I'm not going to Florida.

Wisconsin definitely needs to give Paul Chryst a raise. I've heard him mentioned for the Illinois job if (when) they fire Zook, and Bielema doesn't have a deep enough bench to lose another top assistant. He's one of the best OCs in the game, too.

I was surprised he didn't take the Texas OC position, I think he's waiting on a HC job.....good luck keeping him

Meyer to OSU rumors continue to spread but still nothing confirmed

Tulane has told Rich Rod they need an answer this weekend or they will move on with a new candidate.

Rich Rod is apparently expected to accept with an announcement next week along with an announcement for an on-campus stadium.

I'll wait on both these rumors before putting them in the new coaches list

the UMass job might be open, their coach met with the AD today

UMass technically goes on this list because they will be 1-A next year

Rich Rod, Leach and Tommy Bowden are the main candidates mentioned

:L if they hire Bowden

he sucks at even coaching at the D2 level.

I thought Terry did well at Auburn? Didn't he get run off because he was banging the donor's wives or something? Got a cheerleader preggers too.

Two different situations. A coach (unless you're Brian Kelly) normally wants to tell the players he's leaving after bowl season so not to affect their game. Meyer shouldn't have any of those reservations about leaving an analyst position.

Tommy Bowden is the one that's the candidate for Tulane

but right now Rich Rod is the favorite
