Well when people are "shocked " o might think he's quite good the only explanation is they're basing that belief off of 10+ years ago because since 09 he's been a solid to very good NFL QB

So according to your logic from this very thread, since you had to go back a decade to show he was "good" you make my point for me that he is not...

No, I didn't say that at all. Smith is OK. My point is he isn't as good as some are making him out to be. For example he isn't as good as Cousins. I said he was "low on everything" because he is. He is your prototypical drive the bus guy. He makes very few poor plays that can lose you a game and he makes very few elite plays that can win you a game. He is as vanilla as they come. Put him in the right spot and he is good. Put him in the wrong spot and he is not going to be very good. He has limitations that most "good" QBs don't, but he doesn't lose games for you with that gunslinger mentality either.

Alex will help his teams win a lot of regular season games by being conservative and efficient ...consistent week in and week out. ..... he's just not going to be able to elevate his play in January and help carry a team to playoff wins like the great ones do ... he doesn't have that in him.

He's an 'ok' NFL QB ....

Alex Smith has been anywhere from good to very good since 2009. To pretend otherwise is wrong . I don't need to go back 10 years . He's been good FOR 10 years m

I can agree. But again Not Bad doesn't equal great. It also doesn't mean Smith cannot be a SB winning QB
