Never said they were blameless. Again, Doug volunteered the info. He doesn't do that, this really is a non story.

I heard what Doug volunteered. It was presented very matter-of-factly.

I wouldnt have even had a second thought about it at all if I listened live. Came off as a light hearted "funny" story about how the AP signing went down and nothing more.

Guess Snyder was pissed about checks and balances and Doug being open up the gaffe... Snyder probably should be pissed about that from an operations stand point.... What level of anger did he feel? Who knows

worth cryptic tweets and additional write ups and air time? IMO no way.

I was just talking about this on Sunday.... the Skins reporting is as bad as they get. Chris Russel even sent me a DM on twitter all the way back in 2014 admitting as much. I should screen shot it here.

Dianna Rousini and Brit Mchenry covering the skins was at the peak of awfulness.

The one report he DMed me about in particular was from Rousini when she ran with a story that the players hate RG3 because they were being loud in the locker room while he was being interviewed.... I called her out on twitter and was a big prick....

Chris Russel literally DMed me and goes verbatim:

"I dont want to make a big deal of this publically - but please take a step back and realize how difficult our job is when we are being told all sorts of stuff off-record & can not quote or name sources. Also, Dianna's not perfect but please b nicer 2 her"

this was 12/12/14

Nothing has changed. Just running with BS stories for click bait. This isnt at least a tiny bit suspicious to you that a report like this would come out during the bye week?

Again, Snyder is a huge asshole and the biggest problem with this clown show. The local media isnt blameless either and is 1 of many other problems with this franchise.

Seriously? Honestly who gives a shit about anyone in the media in 2018? It is a joke whether we are talking about sports, news, entertainment or whatever. You rag on DC media & I agree. However ESPN, Fox Sports, etc are no better & perhaps worse.

It is also not necessary to get your news from those type of sources in this era. Social media & other outlets are more than adequate replacements for all of that crap. In the end - I don't care. For now I will just focus on the product on the field & leave the other nonsense for the offseason & beyond. I also don't need some DC hater to tell us how to think. HTTR

I dig the letter and here's an alternative reason for Snyder's butthurft-ness

What if Snyder's pissed because Allen lied and said he was involved in the AP signing and now Snyder now knows that to be a lie. Even if Snyder didn't know off or approve the AP signing when AP was actually signed. It would be odd even for Snyder's triflin ass to get mad about it now. But if Allen lied to Snyder about it and Snyder just found out via DW's interview. That would be a perfectly valid reason to be mad at Allen.

Maybe kbso is on point as well. Peeps at Redskins Park can sense heads are about to roll with another disappointing season and they wanna make sure Snyder knows what's what if/when the chopping block comes out

Very good points @Breed, the thing that's particularly galling is Allen's penchant to crawl under any rock to either save his ass or as you've suggested, create an "look what I did" situation. My question(s) to you is/are, considering the ongoing McCloughan lawsuit, Allen's clear attempt to take credit for following McCloughan's draft board and now this, why is this the time for Snyder to pull the pissed card in a manner that allowed it to go public? Are we looking at another setup in which there's going to be a fairly quick realignment in the front offices?

This thread seems to be quickly heading towards the "Off Topic" thread.

That said, a word of caution when attacking the media. The Fourth Estate as it's commonly referred to, has served as the window into which the people can have sunshine cast upon information otherwise hidden, by the three branches of government. Despite attacks from every quarter, imagine what life would be like if, for whatever reason, we were put into a position where our faith in that which was being reported was at question. Oh wait...

We are in a 24 hour news cycle in which debates can start and flourish based upon something as ridiculous as silly cat tricks to the deadly serious loss of human life. Is the media at fault for reporting objectionable or slanted stories? Absolutely not!! Think about that for a moment, and if you've concluded as I have, that these stories wouldn't exist if there was no demand for them then you'll also agree that we, as a collective, are as responsible for the media that we get, as we are for the government that we vote into power. Citizenship is a job, it takes effort, attention to detail, and more than an occasional vote or social media membership. Failing to do our jobs as citizens or worse, leaving our responsibilities for others to exercise in our stead, gets us to where we are today. Shame!!

(See you guys in the "Off Topic" thread!)

Doug did his job without permission. Go figure! Guess what? Who cares!

Whether right or wrong if he did not inform the owner or go to the person who informs the owner then it is an abuse of power unless he was given that power by the owner or the owners agent. I am not supporting Snyder in any way but even Joe Gibbs had to keep JKC informed.

I have no idea why Snyder is pissed, I just hope he's pissed at Allen. Regardless why Snyder's pissed though. I wished he had kept that private.

Even though I want Allen gone. I'm not sure doing it 4 weeks into a season is the right time. How will the management pyramid be set up after that? Does Snyder assume an even more hands on role? That would terrible. Does DW become the GM? If so, other questions would be. Is he ready? Will he actually have real GM powers or just be a figurehead that does someone else's bidding? What happens if anything to Schaffer?

Agreed, this should have never been made public.

Again agreed, 4 weeks into the season is a turrible (Charles Barkley) time to do something like a front office reshuffle. There are however, some pretty clear signs that it's exactly a time that Snyder puts his imprint on the season.

1. the team owns a winning record at 2-1.

2. They are also leading their division

3. There have been no reports of disharmony amongst the players

4. Silence is not golden with this owner, his name has been mentioned once thus far, I doubt that's going to satisfy his desire to compete with Jerrah for media attention.

Heh. Turrible. My mom says it just like Charles. Makes me laugh every time. Speaking of Charles. Is he still talking about getting into politics?

I'm not sure, would that be turrible?

Well, seeing as what you did in high school (allegedly) can come back to haunt you, probably not a good idea.

I can't call it, but probably not. I like Charles and right or wrong, good or bad. He'll let you know how he feels and what he thinks. Hopefully he'll continue doing so as a politician.......should he run for an office and get elected.
