Why did he let Saban talk him into burning his red shirt to play a few meaningless snaps ?
The Midget must have supernatural gifts of persuasion.

Maybe Jalen is actually a team guy and sees the value in playing in some games this year under the tutelage of Dan Enos

Not to mention Tua has made Jalen better

I've said all along that Jalen is never going to make it as a professional athlete...he does however have what it takes to be a professional coach. I would not be surprised at all to see him on our staff inside 5 years, particularly not after the solid he has done for us this year.

Two words. Dan Enos.

He wanted to work with a QB coach that could teach him better passing skills, and if you have seen Jalen in games this year, he does look better. Sometimes, knowing your options PCF are better than thinking you can play your way into an NFL roster. Jalen is hedging his bets by learning from the best he can, not hoping on a wing and a prayer.

The only way this makes sense is if he has no aspirations of playing professionally.
He could have played thru last week and still had 2 years of eligibility left.
He could have spent that extra year learning and playing another position if that's where he thinks his best chances of playing pro ball lies.

Then he's foolish.
He could have learned while starting from any number of excellent QB coaches.
Now he'll either back up Tua next year or go elsewhere, have to learn another system and only have a year to play.

I heard that he will graduate after this year and be able to transfer and play immediately, whether he plays anymore this year or not.

It doesn't give him 2 more years if he sits out this year.

Don't know if that's right, but what I picked up somewhere.

Jake Fromm and Justin Fields as well. Both idiots. One of them should just give up and transfer. No QB ever gets hurt in the NCAA. Just ask Clemson. One should definitely abandon all of his teammates because there is a ZERO percent chance they will need both of them this year. Foolish.

That's correct.
Till he played his first snap today he still had the choice of shutting down and having 2 more years of eligibility. When he took that first snap, he burned a full season.

The list of quarterbacks who have transitioned to another position successfully is extremely limited. Jalen can have all the aspirations he wants...I'm just telling you what his reality is. He has the football iq to be a successful coach, he doesn't have the skill set for more than a 2-3 year NFL career. In either case, he is better served by getting the reps now under Saban and Enos this year than he would be playing another year somewhere else. He needs to improve his skill set, not showcase his not NFL ready skills somewhere else.

It's not even close to the same thing.
Justin knows his time will come.
Barring an injury to Tua, Hurt's will never start another game for Bama.

So its foolish to finish his education(One that he ends in December as a graduate) and still gets to play for yet another possible national title while learning from some of the best coaches in college football? Stupid done fell all over you son.

He had two years of eligibility if he had R.S. this year. But he wanted to fight for the job, and hell, if something happens to Tua, he'll be the man again.

He's loved and worshipped in Tuscaloosa. Gets a standing ovation everytime he enters the game, and is about to graduate. I imagine he'll go somewhere next year and coaches would much prefer to have him over Bryant if for nothing else than he's more talented AND a better teammate.
