The pre-season is over, cuts have been made, rosters trimmed to 53 and with a move yet to be determined here and there, teams are set and ready to go. We've made changes too, injecting some more youth onto the roster and there's an injury history for a few of our guys that has to be answered.

Overall how are you guys (and Lady) feeling about this team and what they (and we) hope is accomplished this season?

I honestly see no reason to be optimistic. It appears that Gruden's team will start off just like they have the previous 4 seasons, being unprepared. Which will most likely result in a couple of losses early for which they will never recover. Then when a few key injuries hit, all hell will break loose. They only real question in my mind is will Gruden make it through the season or not.

I will not be surprised if we go into the 2019 season starting over once again. The results will be that the outstanding careers of guys like Williams, Kerrigan and thompson will be wasted as the team rebuilds once again and we see these guys fade off into the sunset.

I really hope I am wrong, but I've seen this movie before.

If AP can show constant productivity in the running game we should be fine on the offensive side of the ball. Smith should be able to move the ball in the air. The defensive front 7 should be a hell of a lot better than last year. The only worry is the safties and Cb's. Norman is going to have to step up big time this year.

Very thin at o-line and safety. Very young at corner. They did not look good overall in the preseason. If the Skins can pressure the QB with four, that changes everything.

If Jordan Reed stays healthy, that could be a game changer on offense. If Richardson Jr. can keep the defense honest that should open up things for Crowder and AP.

A rejuvenated AP will do wonders for Alex. Alex is best off the play action. If no one respects our run game, the PA won't work.

If we don't start 2-0 the season is probably a wash.

I've been teetering around 8-8 all year. Losing Guice probably cost us a game. I'll say 7-9. As we all know the years we have expectations they don't do shit. The years where they are picked last by every media outlet, they usually win the division. We'll see. I'm pessimistic. HTTR

it all amounts to how we start . if we start out slow yet again then this team will be another 500 rendition of the last few teams

if smith is what he is hyped up to be then we should win 10 games and be in the nfc title game .

is the team ready for week one ? that is the question

i would be happy with a playoff win

Confused!

Defense should be better with health to Allen and Ioaniddis and the addition of Payne and Settle.

No clue on offense. AP looked good in his one game tryout but how will he look in game 8? Jordan Reed improves the team if healthy. WRs are mystery meat. QB, new team …. not sure. He won't suck but we will have to see how it goes.

I agree about AP.
Smith, Peterson and the OL will be key in determining how well we will be this yr offensively.
Peterson has the potential to improve our between the tackle RG alittle. This should help in keeping us in more 3rd and less than 6 which is more manageable. We will see if JG RG continues to be an afterthought in his offense scheme but our OL should enjoy running the ball with AD in the line up, it’s all about an attitude. This goes alone way as to improving the red zone deficiencies.

Hopefully we should better converting 3rd downs.

As far as the secondary I think our our DC have allowed to many times were they are not in the right place and the tackling is atrocious. The only improvement here is DL. We should be strong up the middle. Must improve stop the opp on 3rd downs also. No PR either.

All in all we have alot to worry about.

i think the ceiling is 10 wins if everyone is healthy relatively speaking. the floor is 6 wins if avg amt of injuries. the reason for this is lack of depth in secondary and OL

I’m optimistic that we will have a good season, 9-10 wins if we stay healthy in key areas. I’m a little disappoint we didn’t see more from many of the starters during ore-season, so we will see how this team starts.

But I do see the infusion of youth as a good thing, on defense and at WR especially. This team has been stagnant for years in that respect.

And yes, I think CDC will have a good year. He has a solid receiving Corp and if we can get some quality snaps from AP and CT (and they can stay healthy) this offense should be as good or better than it has the last couple years.

so nine wins on the low side 10 wins on the high side ?

Hehe. I see what you are doing.

If we don’t lose any key players to injury, then yes, I could see 9-10. If we lose major players, then I could see 6-7.

No. I don’t think we will get a playoff win. Will be lucky to get a wildcard, but I feel like we could be right in the hunt for it.

So the difference in more wins is due to improved defense but if they have the same health issues as last year they won't be any better and maybe worse than last year despite a (supposedly) improved D?

ok , but since you know where i am going with this then why did we give up a 3rd round pick , a starting young cb with PB potential and 74 mil guaranteed money for what is basically a lateral transfer . ? couldnt bridgewater do that for cheaper ? couldnt keenum have done that for cheaper ?

this is the essence of ABCism . we go with a 34yr old career avg qb and give up on an ascending 30 yr old qb whose only sin seems to be he wasnt RG3 or a 1st rounder

now hopefully we have built up around him enough that he can actually win meaningful games

everyone wants to attribute my stance to KC nut hugging but its not

its a core value that we should draft , develop , and keep our own guys , especially those that produce , rather then putting our money and resources into some one elses guy

it isnt just KC , its TM . right now TM is better the mcphee or ryan anderson

its also long , i would take him on our o/line over lavou everyday and twice on sunday

niether contract when you factor in guaranteed money was expensive

now if our FO was on the ball we could have had KC for far less in money and resources then what we got for smith

all , for mind you , a lateral transfer

it also turns out all the BS this off season on how great smith was was fake and phony because the ABC crowd doesnt buy we will get a playoff win and are happy with still hovering around 500
