Chiefs have to bring at least an average defense into next season.

You don't keep a beleaguered defensive coordinator, blow your cap space on a WR when trading away a vet QB, get rid of your best CB and then trot out an embarrassing secondary. That just cant happen at a pro level.

You're going to see Chiefs fans actively booing the defense early and often if this keeps up if I was to guess.

Yeah, I think this looks like what people kind of feared when injuries hit. It can't survive Berry, Houston, Fuller getting hurt. It's thinner than paper.

It can't survive with David Amerson starting at CB.

I think they're a little thin at LB but its much more of a general secondary talent issue than anything

Why are you like this NFL?

Its what happens when a 6'7" guy hits a 6'0" guy. Kpass even rolls off his body to the side.

Zero chance they'd ever call this on Cam Newton or even Big Ben

I feel pretty safe saying Kpass>Ford right now at this point. Gonna be a rebuild-y kind of year on D so may as well go with the guy who can be the future. Dee Ford is old news and is CB tier against the run.

I see Dee Ford as depth/insurance. You can never have too many pass rushers but he does only play one aspect of the game.

Chiefs D is so thin if they take a significant injury or lose a starting CB, they're fucked, imo. Amerson looks as toasty as he did in Oakland; that's not good when you aren't the best ball skills wise.

I've seen this movie from Daniel in the preseason before to not care too much, but inspiring work from guys like McQuay and Murray.

Yeah, not sure how it makes sense to get Ford on the field outside of 3rd and long. Outside of plays he is unblocked (I am mystified teams still do this) he offers close to nothing in the run game. He's not exactly an elite passrusher you can't leave off the field.

He left his feet before hitting the qb. That is roughing the passer.

Steelers defense is night and day better today.

Almost like the pre-season isn't a time to overreact.
