At what date do you think Oakland passes the Yankees for the 4th seed and HFA for the wild card?
I'm going with September 5th.

No. When a team is 20 games over .500 and has a negative run differential, Pythagorus is rolling over in his grave. Not exactly a vote of confidence for the ol' home town team there, eh?

Oakland's run is defying all logic. You look at that team's roster on paper and they look like a 72-90 team. Beane is a genius. Can't imagine what he could do with a $180 million payroll.LOL. They're 10 games better than their pythag. That's crazy.
Well, there are where they are, run differential and all, and the GM did some good work at the deadline I thought. I think there's a better chance Seattle's in NY in October than NY is in Oakland.

8/10/18 book it![]()
25-36 vs teams with winning recordA's have overachieved their pythag by a pretty good measure (5 games), but they're just playing good baseball over the last 2+ months. 39-19 since the beginning of June with a +63 run differential.
The A's will not catch the Yankees.
Not with THAT attitude, mister!
The A's are a good team on a hot streak but it is unlikely to be maintained. The Yankees are a better team that still has a good lead.
Unless the Yankee get more injuries.
