don't hate it but if you have an opportunity to get Barkley we should explore it.
Getting Barkley would be great, but
1. I don't think we have enough depth at the other 21 positions (not including special teams) to be able to afford to trade for him, and
2. I think you're under-estimating what it would cost to move up to 5 - probably significantly under-estimating. I think we'd have to add next year's 2nd rounder to your offer to have a shot at him.
3. I really like Guice, and he is likely affordable. He should be the Skins target with their 2nd round pick. And the Skins have a chance to get a star quality defensive prospect with their 1st round pick. We can dramatically improve both the defense and offense - rather than just the offense. That's a better way to go - by far, imo. The Skins are not a RB away from winning anything.

And neither was Dallas until Zeke showed up.

Over the top? It is what it will take to land #5 [Barkley] from Denver. Draft capital is King which is why the 1st rounder next year will be necessary to move up. I don't think you get an argument from many that Barkley has the skill set to go #1 in this draft and it has already been noted he IS the BEST player in this years draft. The teams moving up or at the top NEED QB's which is why Barkley will fall from #1. If we can add to our defense with another starter or 2 in FA (June cuts) and trade our 2nd rounder for additional pick (s), next years first rounder should be below #15. All this hypothetical of course.

I agree with you

You have Guice reaching us in the 2nd round? How do you figure that? he is RB#2 in the draft right now.

Is Barkley REALLY going to be a transcendent player? He's a rb from Penn State, right?

Not too many rb's from Penn State have been any good in the pros....

Franco Harris, Larry Johnson being the exceptions

Ki-Jana Carter, Richie Anderson being mediocre

You might have forgot Curt Warner, Lydell Mitchell and Lenny Moore. Carter is hard to evaluate since he blew out his knee before he ever got started.

Bullspit, Dallas drafted him when they had what was regarded as the single best offensive line in football, a HOF TE, and a superstar WR. The Skins situation is not comparable to that.

I said it would be cheaper to trade up to get him - using the Skins 2nd round pick.

You are correct Ruz however, the HOF TE is on his last leg, the OL took a hit and the superstar WR's game is in decline at this point of his career. But hey, they still have Zeke and he scares the be-jeeezus out of opposing defenses.
Again, the difference between 7-9 and 10-6 in the NFL is a player or two, some luck and the foresight to make a move that will improve the team immediately.

They also didn't have to trade up to get Zeke, so they were able to keep their other picks and use them on people like... Dak Prescott (4th round), starting MLB Jaylon Smith (2nd round), and starting DT Maliek Collins (3rd round).

And even at this stage of his career, I would kill for a TE that blocks like Witten. That team was perfectly built for Zeke.

The Greatest Penn State Running Backs of All Time

Here you go - here are some of the better RBs from Penn State. Everyone forgot about Blair Thomas who was a 2nd overall pick in the draft & didn't do much in the NFL.

I didn't forget Blair or Enis. I think his point was there weren't many good RBs from Penn State. Blair was probably better than Enis in the pros. Can't forget Heisman winner Cappelleti either but again he had a mediocre pro career. I know it isn't what he was talking bot there have been a number of good FBs from Penn State.
