I say we take him. We would have him for 5 years. He doesn't have to start right away. I have seen a lot of mocks where he is available at #13 which I find shocking.

I really don't see it all with Allen. He's the least accurate QB in the class and his mechanics are also bad to go along with it. His production just doesn't match that of other top QB's in the class. Yeah, he might have armstrength in the same class as Rodgers, Favre, Mahomes, George, etc to go along with some mobility, but that provides more of a floor than an upside if you think about it. At 13, there needs to be an upside. Probabilistically speaking, what are the chances of Allen being starting caliber year 1? 2, 3 4, 5? Now do the same with elite. Then you have to pay him if he is any good at all. For a guy with this many flaws, it would be unprecedented if he pans out.
If I were the Skins I'd trade up for one of Mayfield or Rosen or just pass on the class altogether.
Wow, someone agrees with me on Carr on this site? Hello, how are you?on the subject i completely agree.
Accuracy > Arm Strength
you should know this first hand.
Derek Carr has a canon with little to no touch. As a result hes probably the most overrated QB in the entire league (IMO he sucks)
You're correct, but when I say accuracy, I really do mean much more than completion percentage. I'd defend Cam Newton for instance.I am not an Allen guy but there is more to accuracy than completion percentage. Allen has inferior players around him which may struggle to get open forcing incompletions, or if game situation commands the risk, interceptions.
Allen is the hardest guy to scout in this draft.

It's a close call for me. I'm not a Josh Allen fan, but he'd be the last of the big 4 QBs available.I say we take him. We would have him for 5 years. He doesn't have to start right away. I have seen a lot of mocks where he is available at #13 which I find shocking.

First, who else is still on the board?
Let me ask, do you view drafting a QB at 13 more or less important than getting the defensive help that we need and could get at that spot? Thanks!

Explain how Josh Allen is different from Logan Thomas out of Virginia Tech? Physical talent is not the same as on the field talent.I think a talent like Allen is too good to pass up. Dline should be fine with the mcboys, allen. ionman, and Lanier.
You and I generally tend to agree. But after committing to Smith, and knowing how this front office and fan base tends to be about the QB position, no way can they draft a QB in the first round. The level of oh hell no that would ensue should the Redskins start out say 0-3 with Smith would be...
Oh wait never mind, that would be SOP for Ashburn.
Seriously though i think the Redskins should be targeting Payne or Vea, which is why I would not be at all shocked to see them take Ridley or Allen if they are both sitting there.

You're definitely correct the NFL likes Allen more, but why do they like him more? Is that a rational and accurate decision? Tim Tebow was also drafted in the 1st round. Let's not let outcomes (or very likely outcomes) sway judgement on the evaluation of a prospect.SCouts like Allen way better. Allen fits a pro style offense. Wasn't Logan Thomas a 4th round pick or later?

But if my recollection is correct on Logan; 4:20 to the Cardinals. I also think that's what Josh Allen probably is in reality and is the single most overvalued player in the draft. Some will argue coaching, but coaches often fall into the trap of trying to develop the undevelopable; and get themselves fired. Have to call a spade a spade somewhere instead of assuming players are balls of clay at a certain point in the draft.
