Really??? Really??? This is a guy that we should have avoided? Check out #3 and his stats from yesterday's game. As predicted, I believe that we're looking at the next Warren Moon.

Not saying he's HOF, but keep in mind when comparing the 2 that Watson just turned 22, and Cousins wasn't a full-year starter tlll he was 27.Just curious ... how come you are anointing this guy a sure HOFer after 3 games but Cousin's is average after 2 1/4 seasons? Something doesn't add up.

Not to beat a dead horse. But do you REALLY think Gruden would have been able to adjust his offense to Watsons skill set?? Do you really think it was a good idea to even consider drafting him after we franchised Kirk?? I will admit, it looks like the Texans have adjusted to his skill set. Im not sure we would have, and more to the point I think Dan would have quickly walked into Grudens office, tape in hand, popped Watsons college film in and said.. Jay I want THAT or you are fired.
Actually, I believe that Watson was able to adjust to the more familiar NFL style. The interesting thing is, it wasn't as much of an adjustment for him as some thought it was going to be. Watson has always been a drop back (pocket) QB first and foremost. BTW: ANY improvement over Colt would have been welcomed here from my perspective. Better yet to have a guy in place who could step in and barely miss a beat if/when Kirk leaves would have, IMO, some here, breathing a huge sigh of relief if it happened. If Kirk stays then the future would be sitting on the bench learning and honing his skills. (I believe that was the plan for these teams drafting QB's as early as they did this year...sit them and let them learn. It's the smart thing to do!!

Again two things you ignore.
1. If we drafted Watson Dan didnt make the move to turn him into a pocket passer any more than we traded up for Bob to make him into a pocket passer.
2. I don think Jay was going to try yet again to make his offense into one that fits the skillset of a mobile QB.
It seems to be that way because, you've jumped to that conclusion yourself. Who said he was a sure fir HOF'er besides you? BTW if you also want to declare my "pretty good" evaluation of Cousins as average that's cool too.
I do agree with you that something "doesn't add up" though and it has to do with the way you want to frame things in order to make a point against something that was never said. C'mon man!!
Don't take too much of what I said to heart ... where I came from we call it "busting them." I never watched Watson much so I can't give any feedback of what I thought he would be. He seems like a good kid, I wish him well.
