I hate Chapman. They should really consider moving him out of the closer role. That was a game they had no business losing once they took the lead in the 8th. This division is over. Only path to the playoffs is as a WC team

Couldn't agree more with this article. Can't keep throwing this guy out there. They still think they have a shot at the division and the WC race is extremely close. Throwing him out there in the 9th to have him fuck games up in mid August is unacceptable.

Yankees' Aroldis Chapman not himself again; Time to use David Robertson at closer?

the rest of the AL is lol. I still think the Yanks are miles better than every non-Red Sox/Astros/Indians team. I thought the Mariners would have a very good offense, but even that's been a bit disappointing this year. Seager and Cano are having down years (albeit above average) and their pitching outside of Paxton is godawful. Angels have Trout and Simmons and a bunch of scrubs, Twins have no pitching, etc. Rays are probably the 5th best in the AL, but even they're looking pretty meh.

Division is over. This team isn't making up 5 or 6 games on the red sox unless they play like they did in April and May which isn't happening.

As for the WC race, I'm not really worried about any of those teams. Hard to see 2 of those teams passing the Yanks. But in this new era of MLB playoffs, wildcard is not the way you want to make the playoffs. A 1 game series isn't ideal

Yeah as I just said, there's really no reason why any of those teams in the WC race should pass the yanks but that 1 game WC playofs is not ideal at all. Hate it with a passion. As I've been saying for years now, that should be a best of 3 series IMO.

idk. I do think they have the most upside of any of the other WC teams, but that rotation is just bad. And Paxton is on the DL. I don't think they're done, but things aren't looking great right now.
