And right on cue, with Cain out of the game, our once stellar relievers come in and threaten to REALLY put the game out of reach.

I am beginning to sympathize with how the Padres fans must have felt during their ten game losing streak last season. This really sucks.

And what's worse, at least the Padres could manufacture runs. They would steal, sacrifice, hit and run, run and hit, whatever it took to move runners over. This Giants' team (and the big noggin) REFUSE to stoop to such tactics, even when it would be prudent to do so.

Kepp at 2nd and Beltran in RF (not having Nate there) and OC at short are definitely defensive downgrades. Not good for a team that relies on pitching and defense.

Gotta say, Cain pitched his ass off today, and should be commended. This is a tough lineup, and to hold it to two runs (1 earned) is fabulous.
