Pfft. Fake news. This is up there in fake news with landing a man on the moon and the earth being round.

In the real game, which secretly took place in Scenario Village, it was actually Oregon that scored 70 on the Huskies.

I read that Stanley Kubrick so wanted his FAKE moon landing footage to be realistic that he actually sent a crew to the moon to film it.

So let's look at that link you posted with sober eyes shall we?

I'm not saying what the ducks are doing isn't a nice step in the right direction for them, but OD is just doing what OD does and blowing his load before the DVD even starts.

Sure, they are currently first on that list. However they don't have any 5*s, more or less "just keeps getting new 4 and 5 star recruits" as he has suggested. Second, they have 21 commits already. Which means they aren't in on any/many of the big time kids that wait until near signing day to commit. They are filling up already long before the bigger players get their classes finished.

Right now they have 3115 points on Scouts list. That point total would have been 17th in last years class overall, which was exactly where Oregon was. They finished with 3099 points in that class. 2016 that total would have finished 19th. The Ducks actually finished with 2588 that year in 22nd place.

If they can land everyone that is verbaled this early it does show steady increases over the last 3 classes given they will end up adding at least a few more, but as everyone knows in todays game flips aren't the exception anymore. Lose out on one or two of the top of this class and those points come crashing down.

One last measure. Their average of 3.43 is lower than everyone else in the top 20 outside of LSU (9th), FSU (13th), Kentucky (18th), and Vandy (19th). So most of the teams behind them have far fewer kids and higher ranked overall average. A lot of them will pass up the ducks when they fill out their classes.

So you disagree with any of that @Olyduck :noidea:

I mean you are normally the more sober one when it comes to class ranking sites and all of the insanity around them so why the rainbow?

Not to mention, 247 composite is way better than Scout where they are 5th but 14th based on average. We will see if it lasts if they have a bad season.

This thread is more Aggy than actual Aggy

I'm used to seeing Aggy crow about lower ranked players as if they're the greatest recruits ever. I'm waiting to see Oregon publish their own rankings where all their commits are magically the top ranked recruits like Aggy does, and their turn to the dark side will be complete

no you make fair and valid points but I also feel like your need to justify all of it is a bit much and you come across as butt hurt about the whole situation.
I feel like you use some stats and stuff to make your point but ignored a few others. Like saying it means they aren't in the mix for some other big targets because they are filling up. I don't see that as the case but it creates a different problems later on. Oregons current total of 3115 would only have been 17 last year. where they were last year. but unless they only get more walk ons that should be higher by signing day.
back to the other problem, over signing. of the 16 teams ahead of Oregon last year 6 had over 25 recruits. so just because Oregon could hit 25 before signing day doesn't mean others cant also commit and sign.

So you project butt hurt? :L Jesus man. This kind of stupidity is normally beneath you. I haven't been in the whole Oregon is paying kids stuff you have been fighting against so don't go overly projecting things I actually do say.

I don't put a lot of stock in rankings as it is and never have. You'd have to find some example of me being too high on UW or any other class at some point to project anything and that simply doesn't exist.

I did say looking at the last 3 years that it shows steady progress. I never implied they were finished for this cycle and was stopped at 3115. I was putting in perspective of how ridiculously early it is. The context is the typical end of class for this particular list is up to 2k higher so we are way too freaking early to declare any kind of victory or over excitement like OD typically does.

Most of the bigger schools don't go above 20 this early as they feel out their place in those typically late committing high value national players. Filling out spots this early tells me they don't like their chances at many of those. I didn't say zero.

I don't put much stock in them either but mostly because under Kelly and Helfrich Oregon would have about 5 right now. Its early I get that. but things have changed with the early signing period.
its not even accurate. and while OD is the thread starter and was inaccurate in his 4 and 5 * thing, Alaksa Guy is the one who posted that link.

Yes, but AG is on the duck bandwagon in terms of this class. He's high on the ducks new staff and whats going on down there if you haven't been paying attention. So I was talking directly to him and OD.

New staff is picking up a lot of kids they had relationships with from Florida. Kids they have seen for years and know something about. They obviously had some solid pipelines in that state. Flashy events and very public announcements kind of fits in with who Oregon has been recently as well. I mean hopefully for you the glitter helmets are a thing of the past, but your new HC isn't going old school for sure.

Need to see results on the field before I get too worked up either way on this staff.
