I think the Viks made a great decision in hiring Zimmer, but what you just said is 100% homerism. You have 3 other teams you are competing with who all have more talent.

well we know Zimmer can build a good defense with lesser talent, & we know what Norv can do with an all pro RB on offense. Don't think Ponder is the answer but Norv can make a good offense with a decent game manager at QB. if I was a Viking fan I would excited for next year. Wouldn't expect superbowl or anything, but don't think playoffs are out of the realm of possibilities. (definitely will be headed in the right direction in any case)

Zimmers track record as a defensive coordinator speaks for it self, The clock starts now on what kind of HC he is. The odds are not in his favor unless he finds an even serviceable qb. Patterson looks to be emerging into a very solid weapon. Jennings has injury history and is is getting long in the tooth. AP is in his prime though. Zimmer has an uphill battle, of all the problems he has, the biggest one is finding a way to compete with G.B. each season. I wish him and the Vikes the best. How much time does he have 2 yrs 3 yrs tops to right the ship.

LMAO at homerism. And I think you are all wrong about 3 teams in that division having more talent. There are three teams with much better QB's. As to the rest of the rosters, the Vikings may be the MOST talented. How did that ''talented'' Packers roster look without Rodgers? If the Vikings and any team in that division switched QB's, how would they stack up? Give the Vikings Rodgers, Cutler or Stafford and let any of them play with Ponder lol. A game manager like Russell Wilson with that running game and D would put them in the playoffs

Won't be the first time we disagreed, and it won't be the last. I'll trust my view, you can stick with yours. The Vikings have two very nice OT's, a couple of nice WR's and Peterson on offense. Their defense gave up a whopping 20yds less than Dallas.

I would imagine they'll go into this season without too many changes to the offense, Cassel at Qb if he sticks around. Ponder will most likely be gone. I doubt they draft Qb in first round, but get one in 2 or 3 then groom him next season.

There should be some new faces on defense, MLB, CB, Safety and NT are all positions that need to be upgraded. Or maybe Zimmer can get them to play to their potential, either way those spots need attention.
