Free agent DT Ziggy Hood worked out for the Redskins last week.

Hood signed a four-year, $16 million deal with Jacksonville in 2014 but was released in October. He appeared in two games for the Bears before being waived again last month. The former first-round pick is just a fringe player at this point.

While I rarely agree with you Dean, for the right price, I could see this as a decent move.

Both of Seattle's DTs are UFAs this year (Brandon Mebane and Ahtyba Rubin). But one is 29 and the other is 31. That's usually not the folks Scot likes to sign. Seattle may want to sign them, but they are staring at some dire cap consequences if they want to keep their team together or are looking at missing some key pieces of their team if they have to let some people go. Bruce Irvin is also a UFA and Seattle may just let him walk. Irvin was drafted when Scot was in Seattle and I wonder if he'd give Irvin a look.
