Me either, but I could say the same for Moore, who I think could be a good player, but not good enough to be handed the job without competing for it

LOL..As if Moore did better??? He was on a much better team and only the Skins kept him from being completely horrible. And don't forget he is actually like 2 years older than Mettenberger.
Regardless of your thoughts on Moore, Showers and Dak...that is the crazy part of it. We saw how backup QBs killed our season last year, we have a guy that can't be seen as a surefire quality backup by even his biggest supporters and we do little to address the spot unless you think Showers or Prescott takes a big enough step forward to push him. There were so many cheap veteran QB options to bring in and compete and we did nothing. This team has shown one of it's flaws to be falling for guys that "know their system". I think Jimmy or Belichick would have turned over a third of this roster in the last couple of years. We resign our own like they are hot potatoes on the free agent market...

Yeah...Because our QB play sucked! That is the point!!! We were 3-1 with Romo. 1-11 with the others. Thus the idea that a backup QB upgrade was greatly needed.
As much as I bash my team the fact remains the Cowboys were competitive in all but 3 or 4 games amongst those 12 losses.

you may be right...I don't know, but I liked a lot about the way he handles himself on the field. Much like his coach (as a player), wouldn't want him to play more than 3 games but remain unsure he's the waste of time some on this forum seem to think. Foles, mettenberg, cassells, weeden are all assumed better than Moore because of measureables. I assume most assume a guy like Chase Daniels is better too and he and Moore have thrown about the same number of career passes. Are the cowboy coaches this stupid and hard headed after seeing the same 16 game season the rest of us did last season? OR did they see a guy play better than the ones around him in those last two games? It is a lot about the reads and distributing the ball...maybe Moore did better than the average eye see's. Maybe the preseason will tell us more....I just can't assume, maybe I like a lot about what I saw in Moore those last two games...certainly compared to Cassels and Weeden I did. Maybe Moore is Jason Garrett.
Then you are nuts and what injury? The old knee issue? He is as good as about half the starters in this league. His backup looks like he'll be starting in Jax this year. He is a very good player. Shame he likely won't play.
