No doubt... Spooky.

I await the Penn State list. How the heck are they going to come up with 3 Linebackers... Guess they could go 3-4. But still.... Even that, they probably have 15 deserving.

I was thinking about that while putting that list of USCw RBs together. Also tOSU LBs, they have had some great ones in the last 20 years or so.

What an amazing list of players. It's hard to believe we have gathered so much talent. I would bet that we add at least one more player to this list in the Meyer era. I think B-Miller might just be that player. :hope:

Ryan Shazier is looking like hes joining in on the lineage of top Ohio State LBers (115 tackles/17 Tackles For Loss/5 Sacks/INT/12 passes defenses/3 Forced Fumbles as a sophomore)

Bradley Roby at CB too

both dynamic athletic freaks at their positions

A more entertaining thread would be WORST regular starters at their position that your school has ever had....

Tyrod's career at Tech was exceptional especially considering the OL he had in front of him. I too a my missed so e people. I'm lying in bed, ha ha.

Yeah but JD was a big reason for the turnaround at Tech in the mid 90. I was @ the UVA game in 94 where we beat yall pretty good. One of the biggest differences between that average 94 team and the 10 win 95 team was JD. Hard to pass that up for Tyrod.

:agree:

What makes this list so difficult is the fact that some of the players left off are just as great as those on the list.

I mean for a Buckeye fan, how do we leave off names like:

Keith Byers
Robert Smith
Cassady
Vic Janowicz
Pete Johnson
Paul Warfield
Andy Katzenmoyer

We could just keep going and still have such an incredible list. Our history is amazing and to think we really weren't that great for the first 30 or 40 years of our history compared to the TTUN. Go Bucks

I'm glad you did it, because I was not even about to attempt it.

Not sure about Langham though.

I AM ANTONIO!

But seriously, he was good, but I think we can find better and it has nothing to do with him getting us in trouble.

Also not sure about Javier as a CB.

Different game now. They were great QB's for their time, but we've had better passers since. Plus with a few exceptions like John Hannah and Derrick Thomas, he seems to be looking at years 92 to now.

This should be lots of fun. Good way for some of us to learn about your team historically.

In the spirit of ESPN's upcoming project where they are taking the best 16 historic CFB teams all star squads, and having the fans vote on the winner in a playoff bracket scenario.

Thought we could do our best here at the hoop to see what you guise have...

I will start with my opinion of what Oregon's team would look like. I am including a Backup QB, 2RBs, 3 WRs, a 3rd CB (nickel) PR, KR, Kicker, and Punter on my Duck all star team.

Offense

1 QB Marcus Mariota
2 QB Joey Harrington
1 RB LaMichael James
2 RB Jonathan Stewart
WR Sammie Parker
WR Kennan Howry
WR Jeff Maehl
TE Ed Dickson
OT Geoff Shwartz
OT Jake Fisher
OG Gary Zimmerman
OG Max Unger
C Jordan Holmes

Defense

DE Dion Jordan
DE Saul Patu
DT Haloti Ngata
DT Igor Olshansky
LB Dave Wilcox
LB Peter Sirmon
LB Kevin Mitchell
CB Rashad Bauman
CB Kenny Wheaton
Nickelback Ifo Ekpre Olumu
FS Patrick Chung
SS Chad Coda

Special Teams

PR DeAnthony Thomas
KR DeAnthony Thomas
K Jared Sieglel
P Josh Bidwell

QB for Oregon is a hard one considering the difference between what was and what now is the position at Oregon. I would have gone Mariota as he is then now and O'Neil the record holder for passing.
I would have picked Barner over Stewart as he had better numbers Barner is #2 behind James for career yards.

Byrd and Molden as corners for me. Byrd second rounder pick and Molden 1st round. vs Bauman and Wheaton both third rounders. Also Douglas Christopher Judge. Never went to NFL but was all pac 10, 3x All American went on to acting instead.

yup and his brother Micheal Dean that played with the Browns, I believe. Was going to put him on the list too but I just couldn't leave off Chester.
