Greg wasn't that small, I think you might be thinking of Joe Washington.

actually both were listed at 5'10", but Pruitt was about 10-15 lbs heavier.

however, both were incredible. hard to pick between them.

I don't know, but I've seen all the OU greats since Womak and Owens myself...

god yer old, but then the first game I saw in Norman was also in the Owens, Warmack and Zabel era.

3 yards and a could of dust, baby!

It's really hard to pick just 5 a side for OU. There have been a bunch.....

Damn! One of my absolute favorite players of all time! Cant believe I left him off my list...

My fave example of him: Rose Bowl, Tex vs. Michigan. Texas was driving, VY took off around the left end, and broke down the left sideline. There was one guy lining up to stop him, and then a flash just takes him out!

It was Thomas, coming across the field, running full speed, lays out parallel to the ground and takes this guy out just before he can tackle VY. Vince then high steps into the endzone. Just epitomized David Thomas.

He was also beast mode in the BCS title game vs USC. 10 catches in that game.

Under the radar: Offense -- Joe Wylie: The fastest white running back ever at OU and also a great punter.
Under the radar: Defense -- Scotty Hill: Unbelievably hard tackler. Knocked Tony Dorsett out of the game when Pittsburgh played in Norman.

Chad Cota. The leader of the Gang Green defense in 1994. Reckless abandon. Those words identify Cota perfectly. Yet he also played smart. He led his team to a PAC title that nobody saw coming. I see him as the MVP of that Duck team.

I played against Chad Cota in High School. I actually played corner and had to cover him when he was on offense from the 7th grade up until graduation. He was one of the faster players in our conference back then. He was one of the top 2 players in the Southern Oregon Conference in the late 80's along with Heath Howington from Roseburg.

A friend of my grandmother's used to pick up Plunk from high school football practice. I was over at her house once, I must have been about 4 or 5 years old and she had me answer the phone for her. It was actually Plunk calling her to see how she was doing. I didn't know who it was at the time, but thought it was pretty cool later in life.
