1. Clemson (The Champs #1, until someone beats them)

2. Alabama (Until someone beats them or Clemson loses)

3. ohio state (Suburban Meyer left this team in good shape. They may be the best in the country. I still hate them)

4. LSU (A showdown with Alabama after a bye week for both teams)

5. Penn State (A very tough team, great fans)

Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma, Baylor, Oregon*, Utah* and Notre Dame ... just outside

*Pending tonight's results.

I'm guessing the playoff right now has a 50/50 shot of two SEC and two B1G teams. Cincinnati will get robbed.

Who'd they play? :dhd:
They always have one awful game against a bad team. Clemson is still Clemson in my mind regardless of who they play through the year. Hell they had a cakewalk last year and they took it to Bama.

This is true. I like Dabo. He can fire his team up. Good Coach too.

They said the same last year. Clemson beat Notre Dame and Bama by an average score of 37-9. If you're good, you're good. And right now, Clemson is a top 10 offense and top 5 defense, and are beating opponents 40-12, which is better than last year at this point. And that was with Clemson playing really sloppy early in the season and playing like 30 players more per game than anyone else.

LSU could beat Bama this year, and Ohio State looks fantastic, but I wouldn't count Clemson out.

They said the same in 2017...how'd that work out. I put as much stock in you beating a team this week that got boat raced by Kansas, as I do in us throttling Arkansas...which is to say not much.

Clemson and Alabama were very similar teams in 2017, though Alabama was slightly better. There was one big difference. Alabama had a winner in Jalen Hurts, Clemson had Kelly Bryant. The game was a low scoring game where Kelly Bryant threw two picks and gave Alabama two touchdowns. Other than that, it was a 10-6 football game where neither team could move the ball on the other.

Don't know why you're getting defensive. It's not like I have Alabama outside the top 5. They're #3 in my ranking, and that's logical. Thus far this year, none of the top 3 have played any elite teams (unlike LSU). But Ohio State looks better than both right now.

Not being defensive, just pointing out that what got better since the bye was the shittiness of your opponents. Clemson might be great, they might just be good, we won't know until the playoffs unless you stub your toe.
