Bruins named 'Sports Team of the Year' - Obnoxious Boston Fan - Boston.com

After their first Stanley Cup Championship win in 39 years, the Bruins continued to increase the profile of the Bruins brand and saw record growth in revenue of ticket sales, retail sales, and corporate sponsorship. The organization also increased its online presence with the 2012 launch of the Bruins "Digital Entertainment Network" (DEN), an initiative that bundles all of the team's digital, mobile and social assets and delivers original content to over 2.5 million fans per month

Good for the B's, it sounds like they are making leaps and bounds in terms of fan growth. I think it's weird they are the 2012 team of the year, not the 2011 team of the year... actually I think it's weird they are naming the 2012 team of the year right now, but good for them anyway.

Its pretty much what you said... It's due to growing the brand that they earned the title. Keep in mind this is from a business perspective, not on the ice.

Winning is always good for business.

As if Jeremy Jacobs' head wasn't big enough...

Tim Thomas had no comment on Facebook.

Must be a political thing.

The thing is, I never thought him skipping the White House trip was a big deal. He didn't make it into one. Poor guy had to keep fending those reporters off over nothing all year.

Hopefully he has a couple of years left.

I admire and respect him for his decision. Just because someone is president does not mean you have to respect them by attending... He is not happy with the current state of the government (both rep and dem), and he made a bold statement. Fuck the media, and fuck all the critics here that bashed him for it.

Agreed, sir. At the end of the day, he's in the right.

He can be right, well within his rights, a grown man making grown man decisions, and a me-first drama queen all at the same time. :)
