so we just got him from Cleveland. That must mean Abreu to the Dodgers will happen.

Wow, guess that's true, and a fellow Cuban to boot. We have to assume the Sox didn't sign a starting 1b to be a bench warmer. Maybe with the exit of Davidson, the Sox might have Abreu pegged for DH, altho a trade seems more likely.

BTW, not too familiar with Alonso's play, defensively. Is he considered good, average, whatever?

Hmmm, is Hahn trying to fit a square peg into a round hole? Found this on Rotoworld:

Daniel Palka is likely to play primarily left field following the White Sox' acquisition of first baseman Yonder Alonso in a trade with Cleveland on Saturday.

White Sox general manager Rick Hahn says he believes Alonso and Jose Abreu will occupy the first base and designated hitter slots in 2019. He is already on record saying the team has no plans to trade the veteran Abreu. Palka was the club's primary DH in 2018 but he will have to find his playing time somewhere else next year. Hahn said it will be up to manager Rick Renteria whether to put the defensively-challenged Palka in left field or have him come off the bench most days. The 27-year-old batted .240/.294/.484 with 27 home runs and 67 RBI in 417 at-bats this past season as a rookie.

One thing about the White Sox rosters from recent years past. We often seemed to be 1B/DH heavy, with only a slight effort at fielding good defensive players. I haven't seen enough games to claim that Palka can or can't handle the OF, but I have this feeling that someone is going to be moved here. The logical candidate would seem to be Abreu, but the Sox obviously value his productivity and leadership. Guess we'll have to see how this plays out in the coming weeks & months.
