XFL Team Executive Has Brutally Honest Comment On Johnny Manziel

Daryl Johnston, the former Cowboys star and the director of player personnel for Dallas’ XFL team, said he will not be signing the former Heisman Trophy winner.

“I passed on him in San Antonio and I’d pass on him again here,” said Johnston, referencing his time with the Alliance of American Football league, according to the Dallas Morning News.

“For me the chemistry in the locker room is critical, and especially the quarterback position. He kind of sets the tone, especially for the offensive side of the ball, but really for the whole team. There is so much added responsibility that goes with the face, goes with the voice of the franchise. And I haven’t seen that from Johnny on a consistent basis that I would feel comfortable committing to him.”

Pretty much sums the kid up. All the talent in the world led to him being raised with never being told no, and wasn't able to handle it once he started to get praised nationally. He never listened to anyone trying to help him early on in his booming career, and now he is paying the price. Cautionary tale that I hope future kids can learn from.

Daryl Johnston is typical of the recent past players. He still wants to be the star. Johnny might show him up. It's like all the NFL pregame shows, hosts are recent star players trying to hang on and criticizing most of the current players, while they are not ready to slip out of the limelight and wear ridiculous suits and skater shoes.

Thank you. Look up his college team, the offense was stacked. Mike Evans and i think 3 of his linemen went in the 1st round, other two not too far after. He was surrounded by a stacked team and he was fun to watch, but never a real pro prospect.
