Now they need to talk to the NFL and workout something for a D-League.

Like this move.
Not sure the XFL could ever be a legit D league for the NFL. The only way on paper is if they step on the NCAA’s toes. If kids come out of college and go the XFL by the time the NFL picks them up they are all but washed up or at the peak of their career which means they won’t get the right amount of salary that they have earned.

XFL IMO should say screw the NFLPA and allow kids out of high school and try to be entertaining on the field and not worry about the NFL. That with not playing in the high rent Metro stadiums.

Ah. But the Combo, with the NFL's help, could be a solid D league

Let's use the CFL as Example:

BC: Seattle
Calgary: Dallas
Edmonton: Denver
Saskatchewan : Chicago
Winnipeg: Minnesota
Hamilton: Detroit
Toronto: Buffalo
Ottawa: Giants
Montreal: Patriots*/Jets
Halifax: Patriots*

I think that was what I was saying and why ya need 4 year contracts to keep your stars as long as ya can. Don't get can't afford long term, just pay the guy the same amount for 4 seasons, so???? Bottom line is these guys aren't bailing after just a year or two.

The only way it will survive long term is to get a partnership with the NFL going. Like a minor league

This virus isn't done with us, so seriously doubt any new anything is working right now. They will need fans in the seats, that won't be happening.

Thinking it will work is......huh???? The CFL needs fan support.

Back in the day Southern U had a 5-11 225 pound running back named Mack Lee Hill, they called him The Truck, due to an injury he missed his senior season, he went undrafted,

He would end up signing on with the Kansas City Chiefs, and it didn't take long before The Truck begin to motor, he was running over people, dragging wanna be tacklers, the guy averaged 5 yards a carry between the tackles. He made the pro bowl as a rookie, then in his second season he is once again doing his bull on the loose bit when he bangs up a knee, he would die on the operating table. He made such an impact in his short career his name can be found on the Chiefs ring of honor. He averaged 5 yards a carry for his career.

What is that about? We will see guys from schools like Assumption, Blufton, Coe, Elon that for some reason or another never caught the eye of anyone who can play, and once in the XFL we all find that out.

I can see the point but the NFL pays nothing right now for a developmental deal. They would have massive vested interests in the XFL that way. I’d prefer the XFL to stay away from the NFL. Not compete but mostly give all the 5 star recruits that can’t a place to play. But that tactic flips off the NCAA and XFL.
