Wyoming's Josh Allen is Rumored to be Done for Year

During the win against Air Force, Allen took a shot to his throwing shoulder. After half-time, we attempted an easy throw, and wasn't able to get the ball to the receiver, and then asked the coaches to take him out.

According to his mother's FB, he has suffered an AC Sprain, which can usually take up to 6 weeks to heal completely. Wyoming is expected Bohl to make a comment on the status in a few hours.

About as expected. Nervous looking, and didn't look confident running the offense. I would like to think that a week of working with the first team will help him, but who knows.

And there is no way we are making the MWCG. Colorado State fvkced that up for us.

There's no way in the world he should be a first round pick. He should go back to school for a year if he's interested in a productive NFL career. Don't do what Kizer did unforced.

Yeah, but tools don't make you a good QB. And I do think he'd go in the first, but for all the wrong reasons. I just don't think he's at all ready for the NFL. I would hardly say don't take the money, but as far as an NFL career goes long term, staying in school makes a lot of sense. He has a lot of stuff to shore up, imo.

No official report has been filed, but Allen's mother posted a FB post referencing a sprained AC joint in his throwing shoulder. Typically this takes about 6 weeks to fully recover.

Day-to-day would be amazing. I'm not quite ready to say goodbye to Allen.

Just given the tweet, plus what I Googled about recovery times, it making it look like it's unlikely he'll return, or at least that's what the GO Wyo boards are saying.

Hopefully it's not as bad as you fear, if he can come back this week you still have a shot at a 10 win season with the upcoming games and bowl game

10 wins would be such a huge boost. Bohl has really changed this program around in a short amount of time. I had my doubts, but damn are we just playing better football.

The story of Allen is why I can't blame him if he goes to the draft with a expectation of a 1st round pick. He's overcame so many odds to get where he's at, and if he really is a high 1st round pick, I'm not sure he has anything to prove by returning.
