If that happens, that will settle who hired the worst coach, Florida, Nebraska, or Michigan.

But I am a negative nancy on nice guy, media friendly, Jiminy Christmas Mike Rillllllley,

edit: how many L's are in Riley? I know there are at least four and sometimes up to nine.

No matter who we hire, it will be Nebraska. No one we've been linked to is worse than Nebraska's hire.

I am going to start a spin-off rumor...Josh McDaniels

Interesting but I think the Michigan fanbase would be pretty disappointed. He utterly sucked as a head coach and probably wants nothing to do with a spotlight this big again.

How often does something like this end well? A successful, old veteran NFL coach taking an offer from a college trying to make a big/cheap splash?

Yeah, who would want a coach with FIVE SUPER BOWL RINGS

See Bill Walsh. Last I checked, Stanford wasn't carving any statues.

No need, he doesn't have 5 rings. And for Stanford being terrible, he did OK in a 2 year span and then a 3 year span. In fact, he had the only 10 win season since 1940 until our own Jim Harbaugh entered the picture.

And yet somehow Michigan will still end up with a worse record no matter who goes there. It's a career killer anymore.

Nah. It's only a career killer if you try and run spread option offenses with 6-6 white dudes and True freshman.

Hoke did about as good as he was ever going to do here.

Other than that, the resources at Michigan are there to succeed on a national level.

I like CC, and yes he has broken some good leads in the past. But really? Belichick?

Lets entertain this for a moment....what makes him an attractive college coach? I don't see BB chasing 15-18 year old kids. I don't see him enjoying stumping around the state at Elks fundraisers or alumni dinners.

I so agree

Can u imagine the hoodie going and visiting recruits and their parents? I just cant.

Didn't Cowherd also say Saban to Texas was a done deal last year?

I'll believe this when I see it

Charlie Weiss anyone? SB Rings mean jack shit in college. It is a different game, different rules, and a lot more difficult to get people to want to play for you. Much easier when you can hand them an extra 2 million per year like in the pros.

I love the arrogance. "We have the resources". Its not 1922.. Most big colleges have resources now days.

Go talk to the Golden Domers, who very recently were enamoured with Charlie Weis's SB rings.

Bell-Biv-de-Chek is NEVER going to leave NE for anything other than a pine box.

Edit: I see FSUmanager beat me to it.

Slow on the draw today. What's up? Spending too much time figuring out who is your favorite team this week?

Plus he doesn't have much patience for immature guys.
