Morning skate at Rogers Arena watching Manny Malhotra put on a face off clinic to end skate. Hand/eye coordination still pretty darn good.

That's the right call imo. The Cup Finals should start on a somewhat even playing field rest wise

after Gillis was on the radio saying its extremely unlikely he plays again this post season

I notice Gillis, who is very careful (some may say calculating) with his words, has changed from saying "will not play for the rest of the year" to "is highly unlikely to play". a subtle, but important difference.

the Gillis line is now ... "there is no timetable for his return" and "I would never say never" and "I have no idea"

he'll be taking line rushes today ... if he's immediately slotted in with the 3rd or 4th line regs ... the story just gets better

This would be such a huge emotional lift to see Manny back in the lineup. Not that the Canucks need it the way they are playing, but just the fact he looks like he will play again will be that extra boost Vancouver needs to take the Cup now. Wouldn't want to let his determination to return go to waste.
