It's tough to be the coach on a team that SHOULD be winning, but just...isn't. I can't imagine the frustration, and it seems like it's all coming to a head. I think the dam breaks from some angle...there's no way the Devs season can continue like this.

Good on the coach!!

The Devils are better than this and the effort isn't there. They need to be professional and come to work everyday.

Wow. Sounds like I'm talking to the Senators but it applies to both teams.

Maybe the Flames and Devils should trade coaches (and GMs)

was more surprised it took so long although jmac has played his part in their problems to.the thing i liked most was langenbrunner finally opening his mouth and calling guys out for sloppy play.

The thing that gets me the most heated is lack of effort...When Raymond scored that shorthanded goal last night to make it 4-2 early in the 3rd period, the entire Flames team rolled over. Nice way to treat your goalie (not to mention the fans).

My Grandma used to say "The proof is in the puddin'"....if they are better than that they sure haven't shown it....

No chemistry... its far enough into the season for them to mesh. I knew KovLOLchuk was a mistake for the Devs. oh well, your problem now, :D

Its definitely a mental issue... The skill is there. They are just not fitting together.

I'm more of a player's coach kind of person, but I guess enough is enough. Can't judge the Kovy contract two months into it, but I never liked the fit there and thought he would flourish in LA. I seriously cannot believe how poorly they are playing. Any chance of a trade to shake things up? Not even necessarily something major, but maybe just some hardworking guys who can help the room a bit.

Wouldn't surprise me loki sooner or later their gonna have to.parise injury is keeping us under the cap for now.problem is allot of ntcs and some unattractive contracts.to be honest allot of talk about zubrus and langenbrunner at the beginning of the season.don't forget langs is a icq at seasons end and their gonna have to free up some space for parise who will be an rfa.

Kovy is not the reason the D has been so horrendous and the forwards have been mailing it in all year. Easy to judge this in hindsight, but a rookie head coach for a team this talented and with so many vets was a mistake. They should have hired a Ken Hitchcock type, somebody that could hold them accountable and discipline them.

I'm not sure if you misunderstood me here or if you're just saying this in general, but I don't blame Kovy at all as the reason for their bad play. I was just saying I thought he was a poor fit for the Devs, still do, but you can't judge his entire contract on two months (as I see people doing on other message boards).

I'm normally one of the last people to blame a coach, but I agree that sometimes you need a different point of view. In my view, the bigger point is that you can't get rid of a dressing room full of players as easily as you can get rid of a head coach. It sucks for the coach, but that's the easiest and best way to make a shake up when most of the team needs it.

Not directed at you Loki, sorry if it came off that way. Just an observation from a frustrated Devils fan. And I agree, as much as I wanted to see Kovy succeed as a Devil, I knew it was mismatch from the start.
