Poor Oregon State...being ranked worse than Rutgers is a real blow to the old ego.

West Virginia has no business being on here.
Pretty sure this is just based on this season and the points made are valid concerns.

Agree.

It took Brown a full year to get Troy turned around, but he inherits a better foundation at WVU.

There's a lot to be said about getting players lined up properly and getting their minds right.

I am floored that he has NC State has an honorable mention. And I love this gem with UNC: Fear not, Carolina fans, once Brown has a few recruiting classes under his belt, we expect Carolina to be back at the top of the conference. What a dolt...

Also agree also that WVU has no business being on the list although it's nice to see them there.

“Once Heisman Trophy candidate quarterback Will Grier and four other top offensive starters left Morgantown behind for greener NFL pastures, head coach Dana Holgorsen decided that the Cougars in Houston looked much more attractive. ”

:pound:
The players were seniors and Holgorsen was going to be fired this year.

I get it, its a “stir em up” troll piece by Danny, thats what he does/is but he really does himself a disservice with that one.

Now, WVU IS in rebuild mode with the players/coaches/staff ect. And it may well be a tough year with the schedule we have.

Funny that Bobby Petrino has had his hands on two of those programs and left them in shambles.. I believe both will be ok and undeserving of this list pretty soon.

How many of these teams will beat at least one of their conference brethren?

How many will beat two?

How many will beat three?

While still not good, David Beatty left Kansas is a whole lot better situation than he found it. Les might get 'em a win or two with just his rah-rah crap and what Beatty left.

16 teams from Power 5 conferences

Average of 3 teams per conference need to be on the list, ACC gets four.

ACC Duke, North Carolina, Georgia Tech, Louisville
B1G Illinois, Maryland, Rutgers
Big 12 West Virginia, K State, Kansas
PAC 12 California, Colorado, Oregon State
SEC Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Ol Miss

Definitely Dumpster fires Louisville, Rutgers, Illinois, Oregon State, and Arkansas.

Is Texas Tech going to be worse than West Virginia is the question for me in the Big 12. I say yes,

In the PAC 12 how can UCLA not be on this list? I am beginning to think that Chip Kelly lost his magic AKA Phil Knight money, and he is thinking of retirement and getting fired and getting paid his buyout, which is $9,000,000.

Over unders for the teams

Oddsmaker releases 2019 college football win totals for every FBS team

  • Duke: 6.5 (Over +205, Under -250)
  • North Carolina: 4.5 (Over -108, Under -108)
  • Georgia Tech: 4 (Over +124, Under -146)
  • Louisville: 4 (Over +154, Under -184)
  • Maryland: 4.5 (Over +124, Under -146)
  • Illinois: 3 (Over -184, Under +154)
Rutgers is so bad, no line

  • Kansas State: 5.5 (Over -108, Under -108)
  • West Virginia: 5 (Over -146, Under +124)
  • Kansas: 3.5 (Over +186, Under -225)
  • Cal: 6 (Over -102, Under -114)
  • UCLA: 5.5 (Over -108, Under -108)
  • Colorado: 4.5 (Over -108, Under -108)
  • Oregon State: 2.5 (Over +130, Under -155)
  • Arkansas: 6 (Over +132, Under -156)
  • Ole Miss: 5 (Over -114, Under -102)
  • Vanderbilt: 5 (Over -136, Under +116)
If I went to Vegas to make a bet it would be Arkansas UNDER

I'm thinking it is going to take the new coach at Tech longer than the new coaches at West Virginia and Kansas State. So I'd include K-State > Tech right now.

Side note: I'm not sure any of them have enough depth if the injury bug starts biting a lot.

I like the Arky under.

WVU has only won 5 or less games one time in the last 17 years. That was 2013 (4-8). They've never won less than 7 the other 16 years.
They won 8 last season. They have talent and a decent foundation for Brown to build on. I could see a slight drop off with new coaching staff, but I don't see a 3 game drop off.
Brown is not Mike Riley bad.

I see 7-5
6-6 at worst IMO.

Funny that Bobby Petrino has had his hands on two of those programs and left them in shambles.. I believe both will be ok and undeserving of this list pretty soon.

But lets be honest, Louisville was in good shape when he left the first time, leaving with a 12-1 record.

Arkansas is similar. He was in a really good position, jut got caught cheating on his wife with an employee and got in an accident.... leaving Arkansas at 11-2 record.

I am honestly surprised that Louisville fired him from the second go-around last year. I mean he was pretty consistent for them, winning 8-9 every year (except 2018). I think Louisville was banking on landing Brohm and said 'fuck it'. Granted I don't think Satterfield is a bad hire. Petrino has never had a season like last year, so I wonder what was going on.
