Game Thread: World Series, Game 1, Cardinals At Red Sox, October 23, 2013

I think I can be forgiven for starting this game thread so far ahead of time. World Series games are anything but ordinary.

Jonathan Tyler Lester is scheduled to start for our team. It will be his 2nd career World Series start. He went 5 2/3 shutout innings in his 1st one 6 years ago, allowing 3 hits, 3 walks, but also striking out 3. I expect he will have better control this time around!

For the Cardinals it is scheduled to be Adam Wainwright, making his 2nd career WS appearance. In 2006 he went 3 innings in a relief appearance, allowing 2 hits, 1 walk, and striking out 5.

I could care less about this series and most non Sox and Cards fans would agree but ill go for the Cards.

Wainwright needed 35 pitches to get through 1 inning. Lester's gotten through 2 on only 22 pitches.

I dont understand why you feel the need to stay inside these threads when a more global thread is going on...same with the Bruins.
