We really need 3 or 4 guys in AAA that we can turn to to come up and start for us.

I agree because we don’t know if Scherzer will get hurt again plus we were without Nate for almost 2 months.
My gut tells me they will not move Lowe. He improved defensively.
He slumped offensively toward the end but that could be related to his moms cancer. Just a thought.
Definitely think Tavares is on the table for a trade. I prefer Gray over Heaney, but we have to wait and see what Heaney does with his option.

I am not set on it; I am open to it. There os a big difference between those two.

Others have mentioned trading him as well, both on this board and elsewhere. Jamey Newberg has mentioned trading both him and Taveras.

The main thing I was doing was showing what could be done to increase spending. I am open to trading him because we have prospects who can play 1B who are ready. That doesn't mean we have to trade him though.

There are some teams that might be more open to trading us relief pitchers for major league players than they would for prospects. Other teams would want prospects.

I’m adamantly opposed to trading Bradford. He will be an integral part of the team this year at some point and I’m also adamantly opposed to trading Lowe unless the return is consummate with his value and we have a quality player ready to step into the 1st base slot.

Montgomery back-no brainer. Wound up being a very good trade for us.
Garver- Good job as our DH this year and had some key hits in the playoffs
Jankowski- thought he played well when given the opportunity. Filled in nicely in the W.S. when Garcia went down. Seems to be a good guy.
Leclerc- Was a key to our championship down the stretch. Would hope he can stay consistent.
Not sure about Heaney. Wait and see if he takes his option. Kinda hope he does not so we can have that money for the bullpen

Guess I’m going to be the Devil’s Advocate and question why are you set trading away Lowe and Gray? I know you are strong advocate for Bradford being in starting rotation opening day but how does trading away Lowe and Gray make us better?

If Heaney comes back, I would stick him in the bullpen, or trade him.

The suggestion was made to use 2 or 3 players rotating at 1st base. The problem is infielders get comfortable throwing to one 1st baseman because they know how he will react to their throws and he will react to misdirected throws etc. it will save them errors.

I’m ok with letting Garver walk . Foscue or Huff can DH. Need the money for pitching.
