I agree here hizzle...should be more about a "body of work" rather than a 1 year stat grab. Seems the kids that get the Heisman early in their college career have a lot of time to show their real character by the end of their college playing days.

I have said this before here...no earlier than a Jr. at best.

The story from the Leon County Sherrif's Office which made the citation (Not TPD) said that he placed his order with Publix(Not frozen legs, but steamed) and then left the store after paying for the items he already had. Then went back to pick up his order. Supposedly(Operative word) he had about 15-20 people getting autographs and taking photos with him when he was picking up his order. He then left the store while signing autographs and such

I guess using supposedly gets him off the hook. Not sure where the LCSO said all of this though if the report says differently.

What happens if a freshman is by far the greatest player in college football? Should he not be awarded the Heisman because he could end up like Johnny Manziel and Jameis Winston?

What happens if some freshman is head and shoulders above everyone else and off the field is similar to someone like AJ McCarron? You can't go back and award him a Heisman, and if he's only the best player his freshman year than someone who was the best player in college football turns out never winning the Heisman.

Well, as a Heisman winning QB, eluding persuers should be something Winston should shine at. Since he failed to elude his persuers in this case, he needs to surrender his Heisman due to fraud.

I agree. I have said that NEVER should the Heisman be given to a first year player. I can handle juniors or seniors and even JC transfers(two years of JC), but not a freshman or redshirt freshman.

The only freshman I can think that ever deserved it, is Hershel Walker. Hershel was not allowed to win it, I don't think Winston or Manziel should have won it. Although they are exciting college QBs.

Did you know that Hershel Walker's QB rating is -200. He had one pass, intercepted, and returned for a TD.
