Yeah, hairs getting a little grungy. lol

There were actually 2 times I said that at about the same age.

In '72 and '73 Deacon Jones (who was one of my hero's) played for the San Diego Chargers who used to have their summer training camp on the athletic field at UC Irvine. I was there almost every day watching their practices.

After practice one day, I got him to teach me his "head slap" that he was famous for. He put his helmet on my head to teach me.

I would feel a little better about that. Less disease risk.

Pretty sure you could get an STD by making eye contact with Wilt.

I wonder what number he was at when I met him?

I've read he had a 48 inch vertical leap and 500 lb bench press. Is this stuff true? He also ran a pretty good 400 meters, at around 48 seconds, I believe. What a freak!

He's not underrated if it's been almost 50 years since the guy played and he's still in the discussion for great players of all time.

This guy is underrated...

Like Wilt this is rumoured to have connected with over 20,000 women

You're not wrong but it is easy to see how he'd be forgotten actually. Figure that Wilt, Russell, Bellamy, Reed and Thurmond were all born within 5 years of him and you can see how there's probably seasons where he's the 4th or 5th best center in a 9 team league.

Lavar has also bedded 20,001 women.

Which coincidentally, is the same number of women with restraining orders against 'Cane. :dhd:

That's why anyone that puts Bill Russell ahead of Wilt is insane...and the only reason they do is bc of the rings.

I love Hakeem but full career and prime, Wilt is the 2nd best big man of all-time:

1. Kareem
2. Wilt

Word is Wilt was a pretty good athlete. Not sure that benching 500 lbs is true?

Did it come from Arnold? He had a lot to say about Wilt's strength on the set of whichever Conan movie he was in (Destroyer? I don't care to check).

I believe it did come from Arnold. Wilt was huge, and it's not so uncommon for someone to bench press close to twice their weight. I read that he was over 300 lbs when he was on the Lakers. The thing that makes you doubt it is that he was very long limbed. I'm not an expert on lifting, but from my experience, it seems like longer armed guys have a harder time on the bench press.

I'd have to try to dig up the bench press quote from Arnold, but here's an article that refers to Arnold saying that Wilt could pick him up with one hand like it was nothing.
