Will we see more upsets in 2020 (if we see NCAAF)?

Less fans in the stands, potentially thinner rosters...what say you?

Probably. If there’s no or a limited amount of fans, that takes away a big part of home field advantage.

With teams not being as sharp as usually and more inconsistent, I think we’re in for some good upsets this year. I can see teams being more inconsistent.

Definitely the potential.

But take like Bama, OSU, Clemson, etc are going to have more depth than anyone they play, too... So, they can withstand some personnel losses better than others

I was just thinking about this the other day. The powerhouses should stay the course because they are loaded with talent and depth. Things could definitely get wacky for sure though which is par for the course for this year in general. I expect to see more upsets if the season happens. Spring might be our only hope for that.

This season will depend on lot on depth. That favors the stronger programs

maybe they will let teams put in certain level of artificial noise?

Yep! I definitely think Oklahoma has a chance to Upset Iowa State on 10/17!

I think more teams will have upsets.
This season may end up being one big scrimmage.

LOL ... That's an interesting way of looking at it.

NO spring practices and maybe 4-6 weeks practice before season starts (if it actually does). The "conditioning" results will be VERY interesting when the games start. :noidea:

In one way...the part where the home team "feeds" off the noise of their fans. But after that, visiting teams
could have an issue with FOCUS.

Getting to sleep in your own bed with this virus around is one thing, but wondering who slept in that
Hotel Bed before you did is something else. The risks of traveling to different states, interaction with
fans in a Hotel...team meals and the folks that serve you. A lot of players could be thinking about
a lot of things other than football.

You Oregon folk better not take North Dakota State lightly. I don't think you will. Oregon's skill positions should overwhelm them + NDSU not gonna sneak up on FBS teams anymore, but still beware.

I don't think anyone is taking them lightly. They are probably better than a lot of our conference opponents. I expect Oregon to be favored by 12-14 points. A healthy favorite but definitely not your typical FCS scrimmage.

I think the OL/DL is more likely to overwhelm NDSU, but we'll see (hopefully)

Old school two way players may be a big advantage.

Be real interesting if all of a team's kickers and punters are out at the same time. "Which one of you guys punted for your team in high school? Okay, you are the punter this week."

Idk. NDSU's style / stability is just like Wisconsin's. They're always rock solid on the lines. The main reason they've been so successful against FBS is due to the hospitality of who they're playing. Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas State, Minnesota... All grinding teams. But this the first P5 team they're facing with the speed of Oregon's.

I think as long as the Ducks maintain a fast paced gameplan, they should be fine. Oooooh I hope this season happens. It's gonna be a good game.

Oregon doesn't really play fast anymore...at least on offense. Wisconsin is actually a good parallel for who Oregon has been the last couple years.

I really wish NDSU was in the Mountain West. Them versus Boise State constantly is what every college football fan deserves. But that's a topic for another day.

They always seem fast when I watch them lol. Or maybe I'm just crazy. That little nugget will make the game even more intriguing.
