RW only needs 173 passing yards to get to 4000. Has Seattle ever had a 4000 yard passer? I'm not sure. Question is whether or not Carroll will keep Wilson on the field long enough to get there. I'd like to see him reach that plateau if he could get there quickly in the game and then get out safe.

The other thing is our Defense is only 8 points behind Cincinnati to be the #1 scoring defense again. We need to allow 9 points less than the Bengals this weekend. Can we do it? It will be extremely tough since we face the high scoring Cards in Arizona and they still have a shot at the #1 seed so they won't be resting anyone. Plus Cincy plays the Ravens. If somehow it works out that we allow 9 points less than Cincy it will be the 4th consectutive year that our D has been #1 in that stat. I don't think that has ever been done before. It would make our already historic defense even more historic.

Seattle has never had a 4000-yard passer. I don't remember what the record is, but I think Russ needs 140-something yards to break the single season record.

Interesting... RW is:

  1. 19th in Pass attempts
  2. 11th in Passing Yards
  3. 3rd in YPA
#3 is why he's on pace to get 4000 yards... Very efficient passer... Definitely not a dink and dunk, game manager quarterback that he's been labeled with...

To answer the question, I would be surprised if RW played the entire game... I'd prefer the Hawks go to Pack or Vikings personally for their postseason game... Less travel time for one... Secondly, we match up so well against the Vikings (kinda like the Rams do to us), Third, Packers offense and defense hasn't been very good for quite some time... They're vulnerable... Redskins have been playing great... Cousins in experience in the postseason will be their demise but traveling all the way to the East Coast in Washington doesn't appeal to me...

With all that said, it doesn't really matter who we play so I don't think the coaching staff will risk playing our starters the entire game...

I doubt he plays the whole game too. I just hope he can get his 173 yards in one half of football because I think that is all he's going to get. I'd love to see him break the 4000 yard mark just to take that talking point away from the RW haters.

It's crazy to think that Matt Hasselbeck never threw for 4000 yds in a year. It always felt like on any given Sunday Matt could drop 350-400 yds on you.

But then again looking back at his numbers, he didn't really throw the ball a lot. Makes sense especially when he had that elite O-line and and running game.

I think if Matt played in today's era he'd throw for 4200-4500 yds easily.

As for Russ, I hope he gets to 4000. Every time a critic finds something to nitpick at his game, he finds a way to prove them wrong.

4 years in the league, 4 post season appearances. 2 superbowl appearances, 1 ring. 3 years over 100 qb rating. 63 % completion or higher in all 4 seasons.

It's been thrown around, but I think at this point it's safe to say that he is the best quarterback in franchise history.

Hasselbeck was really close, i want to say within 10 yards fo 4000. Definitely under 100 though.

Ok, at what point is a guy considered "elite"? This last half of the season pretty much proved that the whole "he's too short to throw in the pocket" thing was a bunch of garbage. 4000+ yards and led the league in passer rating. If that isn't elite then I'll pass on elite and stick with Wilson.

Just imagine what his numbers could be if Seattle wasn't a run first team. Just interesting to think about.

they're 50/50. And even with the 50/50 he's a pretty big part of the running game on top of it. He's a stud. He broke out during the 2nd half as well. Franchise QB's cost a mint but he's proven he's one of them. What a steal for a third rounder.

I read that he's the first player in NFL history to throw for 4,000+ yards, run for 500+ yards and throw 30+ touchdown passes in the same season. The guy is the complete package and he's been on a ridiculous run for roughly the last two months, particularly from inside the pocket which was one of the criticisms he had received in previous seasons and earlier this season.

RW is a stud, which is why I can't understand why a few posters didn't want to pay him. How stupid would that have Been.
