YAY...dynamic singles hitter, what about his hardly impressive OBP????OPS is not a good start for singles hitters
yawn...in a hugely spacious stadium3000 hits. Ticket punched.

Gold gloves are garbage...look at Hosmer. One cumulative stat...3K hits over 18 years. Pujols is about to push thru 3K, but he also has a 385 OBP and 950 OPS 600 HR's...that's HOF. Not just pretty good3K is 3K. I believe Rose and Palmeiro are the only ones to hit the magic number not enshrined, and there are reasons for that.
Ichiro also has 10 gold gloves, and the single season hit mark as well.
Wow...2 batting titles in 18 years! Color me unimpressed. Slappy singles hitter playing in a big park. Not saying the guy is very good, I just think it belittles the HOF. Again, 59.4 WAR. How valuable was he?3,000 hits
Rookie of the Year
MVP
2 batting titles
262 hits in a season
500 stolen bases
Lead the league seven times in hits
10 gold gloves
.346 Avg and .400 OBP in the post season

Good question. Considering his WAR is 10 points higher and he played a prime SS position and not a corner OF. WS MVP. multiple Silver sluggers. not saying he should be in eitherWhy is Alan Trammell in?

Point is Ichiro is one of the better hitters we have ever seen, singles count. Trammell never lead the league in anything. A player shouldn't be penalized for the position he played when it comes to HOF voting. There are a bunch of players not nearly as good as Ichiro already in.
Yawn. Ty Cobb had a lifetime 366 batting average and 433 OBP...ichiro was meh...slightly above averageAlso 10 straight years 200+ hits
Ty Cobb only had 9 seasons his entire career with 200 hits.
Gold gloves are garbage...look at Hosmer.
You do realize Trammel was WS MVP???
Ichiro was a very good hitter, but how do you ignore a 355 career OBP??? Is that really a great, HOF hitter? And why not compare him to others? Hell, lets compare him to other 3000 hitters...he's worse at OBP, OPS and OPS+ (Beltre, Jeter, Rose, Arod, etc....)
There is the opposite argument...why isn't Simmons in the HOF or Edmonds?
I love the guy but he isn't HOF to me...he didn't transform the game. He never played in a WS.
