Traveling through Boulder was beautiful. Denver isn't far either. Fucks wrong with the university? Can't recruit with this location? Can't bring in a solid HC? Do they have any good athletic programs?

Their basketball team is halfway respectable... Football since joining the PAC has been straight up shit. Terrible facilities. No recruits.

I don't think the locals or student population care about the football team unless they are good.

I guess "fair weather' would be the best description.

Maybe they again need a reactionary figure like Bill Mcartney to lead the Buffs back to prominence? :noidea:

They forced out their AD mid last year, which was a good move imo. Bohn did some good things like getting them into the PAC but he definitely had his detractors.

AD issues have a way of screwing EVERYTHING up for the long term.

He was a good coach.

Good at rallying the fans too.

He banned the color red on the athletic facilities. Cars, clothes, everything.

The only thing that was allowed using the color red was NEBRASKA on the football schedule hanging in the locker room. The other games were all printed in black.

Recruiting is their primary problem along with there not being a significant fan base. They're NFL fans in that area. In Boulder bicycling is a bigger deal than football....which is incredibly queer. CSU is in a location without a significant enough population to grow its fan base as well. I'd say the most popular CFB team here with the loyalest fan base is Air Force. Within the Co. Springs area they have a big following and their national following seems to be growing as well. The city of Co. Springs actually has a larger population than the city limits of Denver, the area just doesn't get as much recognition. It's also growing at a faster rate than Denver and Boulder, so if AF can remain competitive I expect their following to continue to grow.

I was smoking a joint outside a coffee shop in Boulder one time and a guy walked up to me to ask me about.......Alabama's rowing team. All I could do was mutter 'fuck' and walk away.
