When you stop and think about every missed free throw is one-half of a turn over. Considering that there is no one to stop you, every player should be a minimum of 80-85% at the charity stripe. 50-70% at the line is totally unacceptable when you're getting paid the kind of money Blake Griffin is getting for example.

I don't think it's for lack of effort. Some guys just can't shoot them. Often NBA big men struggle at the line.

It's harder than it looks. Plus, I think I've read where hand size often has a negative effect on FTs, often making it more difficult for bigger guys to hit them at a good rate.
