They barely beat Northwestern on the road. Northwestern is 4-5 and 0-5 in the Big Ten. Michigan is 6-3 and 2-3 in the Big Ten. Northwestern was Ohio State's only good road win and the only other team they have beaten with a winning record in conference is Wisconsin.
Here is Ohio State's schedule:
7-3; 5-1 Buffalo (Beat them 40-20; Baylor beat them 70-13)
5-4; 4-1 San Diego State (Beat them 42-7; FBS team Eastern Illinois beat them 40-19)
1-9; 0-7 at Cal (nothing to say here)
Florida A&M (3-7 FBS team)
7-2; 4-1 Wisconsin (only good win here by 7 points at home)
4-5; 0-5 at Northwestern (best road win by effectively 4 pts)
6-4; 3-3 Iowa (10 pt home win over average team)
5-4; 2-3 Penn State (ran score up on average team at home)
1-8; 0-5 at Purdue (on par with Cal)
3-6; 0-5 at Illinois
4-5; 2-3 Indiana
6-3; 2-3 Michigan
So Michigan is not a good team, but they certainly are not a BAD team. This is the biggest rivalry in college sports. Michigan is at home. This will easily be Ohio State's biggest test.
