You and ONLY the parents of the kids playing. The game itself is usually bad enough I am not watching a bunch of overweight kids wearing unnecessary gear play flag football
You're severely underrating those 4 classic bands. The only one I would add to that is that mainstream metal group with the female vocalist. You know the one, they had that song. Shit I can't think of it right now......
I kind of agree. I still like Zeppelin. They were my first concert. 1971. Sort of like Deep Purple for a spell.
But I was happier with Allman Brothers or Little Feat.
The late 70's and early 80's would have been dead to me but for New Wave/Punk. Clash, Costello, Talking Heads, etc
Disco, country and rap/hip hop are the no play zones for me.
That and screechy half stripper girlie shit. At least they haven't gone and gotten Taylor fucking Swift for halftime. That would put the doomsday clock to 1 second before midnight...
Actually, that would be cooler than the crap they roll out year after year. I can remember as a kid during minor hockey week up here, we got to go out and play a 5 minute game between periods of the local team's game. As a 7 or 8 year old, playing in front of a full arena, we thought we were awesome. A kid getting to play in front of a SB crowd would enjoy that memory for life.
So you relate to Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga?
That is not any of those bands. At all.
At least they were current. Shakira and JLo are were brief hits more than a decade ago, to the level of neither Swift or Gaga.
I hate to respond to my own post but I just remembered the name of that female metal vocalist. Ah...never mind. No one's interested.
Hint: JLo is from NY. Shakira is from Colombia
There are plenty of Spanish-speaking artists actually FROM Miami.
Any that are big enough to do SB halftime show?
As big as Travis Scott or Big Boi last year? Sure.
Jason DeRulo, Flo-Rida, Gloria Estefan (performed in '99), Pitbull, etc.
It hasn't been local acts (or even acts related to the style of the hosting city) very often though. Maroon 5 was the headliner last year in Atlanta (from LA). Timberlake (Tennessee) was the year prior in Minneaopolis. Gaga (NY) was two years ago in Houston.
Maybe it's best if we just don't give a shit.
