Not sure if you just grabbed the wrong quote or not. I'm just stating that from a playoff perspective ND would be better off losing to SC than Stanford since Stanford and Oregon play each other as well and it will be a common opponent, while SC doesn't play Oregon.

So if Oregon and ND both end up with 1 loss and Oregon beat Stanford while ND loses to Stanford it would give Oregon an edge over ND at getting.

Only thing is SC is the very last game of the year. If SC has one loss going in and beats ND they have an edge in the pecking order. It's never good to lose late. I also said Stanford because losing to FSU, would mean there would likely be a rematch because FSU would get in. Would the committee want that? We're just looking at it in different ways.
