Would have been nice to pick up a game on the Yanks, but I figured this stretch we are in now is going to be tough. 4 games against the White Sox, 7 against the Yanks, 3 with the Rays and 3 with the A's (the only real break is the 3 against the Jays in this frame). This is going to go a LONG way in determing out playoff hopes. Thankfully both the A's and Rays have to face the Rangers again and should notch a few losses there.

The A's have a tough stretch in mid-september, going on the road @ Det @ NY and @ Texas back-to-back-to-back (with the Texas series being 4 games). If they're still in the thick of things then in the AL West hopefully Texas will be up for that series (and the one at the end of the season) and not in "coast mode". They also have 7 games vs the Angels beginning of september, and the Angels might be playing for their postseason life right there. I hate to rely on other teams to help us out, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't hope that the A's reach a stumbling block in september.

Tampa's schedule looks marginally harder than ours for the rest of the season, but we're really splitting hairs here. They do face Texas (as you mentioned) and they have a 4 games series @ the White Sox at the end of september.

The only part of the rest of the season I'm a little worried about is the 9 game road trip the O's have @ Oak @ Sea and @ Boston. The A's for obvious reasons, the M's because they seem inscrutable, and the Red Sox because they'd love nothing more than to play spoiler.
