Hmm, intriguing. Going to be interesting what the followup would be if the White Sox are indeed serious about this longterm.

Not to piss everyone off, but the rumor here is that the White Sox are flipping him to the Yankees because Peter Angelos will not deal with the yankees, although they could offer the best package of prospects

I prefer that doesnt happen and the Yankees just chase Machado in FA if they want him

Nightengale also tweeted out that the White Sox don't believe they had the best offer on the table for Machado.

I heard they were going to trade him to the Marlins for a package including Yelich, then Jeter would trade him to the Yankees for international draft money, Ellsbury and Betances.

If the Sox don't flip him I don't get it. Their window is 2019 not next year.

The idea would be to lock him down long-term.

He's only 25...

I heard it's to flip him to the Yankees bc Baltimore won't deal with them directly. You don't have to trade for him to lock him down after next year.

Meanwhile the Giants are looking at Avisail. Why would the Sox deal him?

I've heard mixed things about the White Sox angle with Machado. Nightengale said that the White Sox want him to be apart of their long-term plans. Some here have said that they've heard otherwise.

My guess with Avi? They have multiple high-ranking OF prospects, Avi can't seem to put a full healthy season together and his peripherals last season indicate that his numbers were a bit inflated. His hard contact rate was really average, and had an unprecedented high batting average on soft to medium contact. Which indicates regression is coming.

I'm not saying I want to deal him, but am simply giving some reasoning behind shipping him out.

It seems we're willing to listen to offers on anyone, so I wouldn't read a huge amount into it. Also, it depends on what SF is offering up. I would take Ramos... but beyond that, they don't really have any guys you'd consider "center-pieces" in a potential prospect package.
